For over 15 years, Andrea and Salvador de Caires have been key figures in Guyanaโs tourism industry, guided by a deep passion for the country. From their early work at Karanambu Lodge with the late Diane McTurk, to leading roles at Wilderness Explorers, Evergreen Adventures, and Baganara Island Resort, they have consistently championed sustainable tourism, Indigenous empowerment, and cultural preservation.
They were also the driving force behind the Compete Caribbean North Rupununi Catch and Release Sport Fishing Cluster, a pioneering initiative that blended conservation with economic opportunity for Indigenous communities.
Their quiet leadership and unwavering commitment have inspired future tourism professionals and shaped Guyanaโs global tourism identity. In recognition of their lasting impact, Andrea and Salvador de Caires are proudly inducted into THAGโs Tourism Hall of Fame.
