Leesails at Portland boat show 🥰

Lee Sails at the Portland boat show. Thanks to all who visited the booth. Doug is the man to contact for sails in the Washington and Oregon state area. Best deals of the year is on until end of February.

Black gaff sails!!

Cruise Ship Excursions is a company in St. Thomas, USVI that has a fleet of Schooners and Cat’s and other boats to service the many Cruise ships and others for day sailing when in the USVI.

Doubloon is an 85 ft Schooner at is outfitted as a pirate ship and needed a new Mainsail and Foresail.

Captain Cory Crowner contacted Lee Sails Canada in October from a reference from another schooner Captain. From conversations and exchange of boat information he wished black Dacron sails if possible.

Colored Dacron in the heavier sailcloth weights in the past have only been available in Tanbark or Cream but our cloth supplier had just produced a heavier weight Black so we could meet the boat requirements.

Sails where delivered in early January and Capt. Crowner sent the following comments as he is installing the news sail.



Good afternoon Bob - I wanted to extend a sincere thank you to you and your team for the attention to detail and craftsmanship on Doubloon's sails. The quality exceeded my expectations. Truly well done. I would recommend Lee Sails to anyone - and the rest of the vessels in our fleet.

That is very nice!

We are very satisfied with the service you provided and the way of your communication. We also appreciate the fast delivery of our new sail. In general we like the make of the sail and the detail work seems to be more than other sail makers do. We will sail an overnighter to Savannah which will be our test run. We will let you know about our experience.

Customer is from Switzerland. Boat is Melody 34. Mainsail 3 reefs. Shipped sail to Beaufort,

It was the perfect test sail: We started with the 2nd reef, then no reef for almost 24 hours, then 1st reef and 2nd reef again. We could sail all the courses from down wind, broadreach, beam reach to close reach.
It worked good for us, we are happy with our new sail.

MY SAILING WITH LEE SAILS

I can give LEE SAILS my best approval, in quality, durability and customer service.

My special thanks goes to Helen Fung in Hong Kong and to Bob Dyer in Canada, they are both extremely helpful to sort out any hiccups of special wishes, the delivery and Customs issues.

I clocked over 200.000 miles, most of them single-handed and under LEE SAILS. Three years ago I ordered a complete set of sails for my Koopmans 39' Aluminium cutter called NEHAJ.

Starting in Europe in June 2015, LEE SAILS brought NEHAJ down the Atlantic, via the Southern Ocean to New Zealand and after a detour to the South Pacific Islands towards Hawaii and Alaska. On her way through the famous Northwest Passage in the summer of

2017 I was lucky enough to sail 75% of the 3.683 miles above the Arctic Circle, eight single-handed man managed that challenge before me.

By now NEAHJ has clocked over 42.000 miles and I'm just about to finish my third circumnavigation.

Her sails are still in decent condition, nevertheless I have just ordered a spare set of working sails – naturally from LEE SAILS.
