That’s the spirit! Our ‘Spirit Tasting Workshop’ took place successfully today! Students were taught to taste vodka, gin, rum, wh***ey and tequila🥃 It was a great chance to figure out what they preferred and prep for future networking activities. Thanks to all participants for coming and our alumni, Ivan - co-founder of The Glass Formula, for hosting the workshop!

[Industry News] Good news! The Avenue of Stars along the Tsim Sha Tsui Victoria Harbour has reopened after a three-year redevelopment project called Victoria Dockside. [Industry News] Marriott International unveiled their new loyalty program named Marriott Bonvoy to be launched on February 13 combining and replacing their three current loyalty brands. Members will then have access to Marriott’s portfolio of diverse brands including the largest collection of lifestyle and luxury properties.

[Industry News] Google recently announced that its AI-powered virtual assistant, named Google Assistant, will proactively send alerts to users' phones so that they can plan for an impending flight delay before arriving at the airport in the near future.

The proactive notifications will begin rolling out in the coming weeks.

[Industry News] Deliveroo, an online food delivery startup, has opened its first brick-and-mortar restaurant in Hong Kong. Named Deliveroo Food Market, it will serve as both a kitchen for delivering online orders and a consumer-facing storefront offering up to 15 dining concepts.

The online food delivery company has squeezed 15 restaurant concepts into one shared kitchen in Hong Kong.

[Industry News] The first-ever dual-branded W Philadelphia and Element Philadelphia hotel development is scheduled for completion in 2019 Q4. This hotel development will occupy a 51-storey skyscraper located in the heart of downtown Philadelphia offering 755 rooms in total.

[Industry News] Marriott Hotels has launched its latest collaboration with LIFEWTR to create a new in-room AR art experience. Hotel guests are inspired to redecorate their rooms virtually by scanning the code on the bottled water with the Facebook camera.

The latest experience headed to Marriott locations allows guests to choose their own artwork for their hotel room -- using AR anyway. Collaboration between Marriott and LIFEWTR will soon allow guests to scan a code on a bottle of water to unlock the AR experience inside Facebook Camera.

[Industry News] Christmas is a time to love but a charity’s booking for homeless people was cancelled by the Royal Hotel by Hull without any reasons. Thankfully, DoubleTree by Hilton has stepped in to offer complimentary accommodation for 28 homeless people with breakfast and dinner provided during Christmas!

[Industry News] LVMH, the world leading luxury goods conglomerate which owns Bulgari hotel brand and Cheval Blanc currently, is going to expand its hospitality business by acquiring London-based luxury hotel brand Belmond Group for $3.2 Billion.

LVMH would acquire luxury hotel operator Belmond through a $2.6 billion deal, or $25 per share, representing a 42% premium over Thursday's closing price.
