Went on air to talk about landscape architecture — and how it touches all of us, every single day.

Had a great conversation with on her show Brunch .hk .We talked about how landscape architecture shapes the moments we often take for granted, and how we design with people.

None of it happens by accident.

Our motto says it best: Bring designs into life; bring life into designs.

Thanks for having me! It was super fun 🩷

These days I'm practicing in Hong Kong, so I don't get to brag about my PLA status that often, and my PLA stamp is mostly collecting dust 😅 Joining in celebrating and from across the Pacific!

Also just want to say thank you to the people who got me here:
landarch – for putting up with my nonsense 😆, and always pushing me to take on bigger things.

– for letting me lead .epg and eventually serve as President. Taught me what community really means.

– for taking a chance on me, helping me find my footing, and trusting me to start new things. Now, I'm leading my own branch and am enjoying it so much 🩷

To everyone who's been part of this ride – thank you. Here's to celebrating our profession, wherever we are in the world.

The 2026 is over, and we ended up with 20 rolls of canvas full of trees!
We co-created mini forests on tablecloths, and we get to chat and to laugh together. No big speeches. Just real conversations, messy drawings, and a lot of love for this city.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by the Hong Kong Trees Conservation Association’s booth. And thank you to .tca for trusting us!

Took the Common Ground cards to today.

Even though my students .la2026_ntm are three years into their landscape architecture programme, we went back to the most basic question: What does a landscape architect actually do?

We played "continue the story"—one card, one sentence, pass it on. Because designing a city is kind of like telling a story.

It was great watching them get inspired all over again, and remember why they chose this path. Always a joy to hang out with the next generation.

Thanks for playing along, everyone. 🩷

Took my students to Ngau Tam Mei and am just feeling really proud.

Watching them explore, sketch, ask questions, get excited about fish ponds and drainage channels (yes, really)—this is the good stuff.

This place is special. So are they. 🩷

What does a landscape architect ACTUALLY do?

Last week, secondary school students with the PGBC Environmental Career Student Guidance (ECSG) Programme 2026 came to find out. And we didn't just tell them—we let them try.

They started with a discussion. Then they drew. They dreamed.

What happened next? Brilliant ideas. Passionate debates. Kids sketching, erasing, arguing about where the benches should go.

They got a tiny taste of what it's like to be us. And honestly? They crushed it.

Thanks for spending the afternoon with us, our future selves. 💚

Day 4 of Lunar New Year – back to work! 🧧

Standing here with my boss's handwritten blessing – "One Million Fans."
Is this an expectation for me to become a top influencer, or to keep creating spaces that you'll love? 😆

Numbers aside, it's more of a reminder:
Here's to another year of designing with heart, and sharing the journey with all of you.

The ASLA Conference 2024 marked the end of my term serving as the immediate past president of the CA Sierra Chapter. I've been involved with the chapter since I graduated from UC Davis. My first role as a board member was the Secretary of the chapter, which I had served for three consecutive terms. As someone who was new to the ASLA and to the profession, I thought roling in as a Secretary could help me understand the industry quicker. I was then given the opportunity to lead the emerging professionals group, which inspired me to want to advocate for young professionals and to help others grow.

Becoming the vice president and then the president was not what I had expected for myself. But as my predecessors said, you never feel ready unless you're actually in the role. I had goals for the chapter and had imagined what we could be; we had (and still have) huge potentials and could be even better than we were. But life happens. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to lead our chapter to what I had imagined for us due to some personal matters. This will be forever one of my biggest regrets in my life.

While on the board, I've met so many incredible people and made great friends. We are all passionate about the profession and about how to make the world better with our knowledge. We all are very unique and, yet, respect one another's traits and personalities. I love everyone I've worked with on the CA Sierra Chapter board. I am forever grateful for having the chance to meet every each of you and to have created all the unforgettable memories together. Thank you for all your love, kindness, and support 🩷

In April, a group of us went to Jakarta, Indonesia, to meet with customers and to visit the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office (ETO) in Jakarta. This is my first time in Indonesia. Before departure, I was too busy and did not have time to do any research for the trip, so i did not know what to expect.
Once we arrived, it took us half an hour to walk from the aircraft gate to the airport exit. When we arrived outside the airport, what we saw was that the roads were filled with cars. I thought that the most profound thing about visiting a traditional Southeast Asian country would be the experience of local history, culture and food; unfortunately, what impressed us most during the entire trip was the traffic jam. The city lacks an effective transportation system. I was surprised when it took an hour of car ride to arrive to a destination that was right across the street.
When communicating with local businesses, they will always make jokes about Indonesian traffic, but it is precisely because of this that local people are interested in learning about our landscape architecture/planning profession. The design industry, especially green design professionals like us, is the key to solving many urban development problems.

The last photo is of the Indonesian cusine. I thought the squab was quite delicious at the time, but after that, we were eating fried food every day of the trip, which made me a little tired of it 😅
