Cruising into Hong Kong—but already seen the skyline?

There is a quieter side of the city waiting on Lantau Island.
Ride the Ngong Ping cable car above mountains and reservoirs, visit the Big Buddha and Po Lin Monastery, then continue to Tai O—an atmospheric fishing village of stilt houses, local snacks and waterfront life.

We all love Tai O, but it is especially close to our tour guide Stephen’s heart, as his dad’s family grew up there 🫶 It still feels wonderfully different from the busy city: slower, more traditional and full of character.

For cruise guests with limited time, we offer this as a comfortable private day with a vehicle—collecting you from the cruise terminal and, where helpful, finishing at Hong Kong International Airport.

Forget just eating mooncakes—come explore Yuen Long with us and see how locals really celebrate! We’re taking you off the beaten path to try heaps of festival snacks from old-school bakeries, enjoy handmade dim sum, stroll under hundreds of glowing lanterns, and hear the stories behind the traditions.

I wanted to share this video from the recent Tin Hau Festival tour curated by the amazing Angel from Explorehongkong. She is one of the most dedicated tour guides and content creators out there, often sacrificing sleep to ensure her trips are both enjoyable and informative. When it comes to "hidden gems," she knows them all—and is one herself! Angel began this journey 10 years ago while training in the Tourist Guide Course in 2015 (with me!). I feel fortunate to call her a close friend, and I'm incredibly grateful that she partners with Hong Kong Greeters to offer her enchanting group tours. Alright, that's enough love for now!
