How often do you connect with business leaders from around the world, each sharing their unique insights in a collaborative space?

As we progress in our careers, it is easy to fall into the trap of limited perspectives. Effective leadership requires us to look beyond these confines and adopt a global mindset.

This is where the Kellogg Global Network Week comes in! It offers an unparalleled opportunity to engage with over 400 peers from partner schools in Chicago, Toronto, Vallendar, Beijing, and Hong Kong.

The Global Network Week stands apart from traditional networking events by offering an immersive, week-long experience that fosters deep engagement and collaboration among participants. As students engage and learn with peers across continents and cultures, they will develop a richer understanding of their role as global business leaders, while also building a supportive network that lasts well beyond the experience itself.

Imagine a digital currency that maintains the same reliability as cash. That’s the core concept behind stablecoins, which tie their value to traditional assets, such as fiat currencies. In Hong Kong, their use could revolutionize payment systems and streamline cross-border transactions.

But what implications do they have for everyday users like us? Prof. Kai-Lung Hui, Acting Dean of the HKUST Business School, provides a comprehensive analysis of stablecoins in his recent interview with TVB finance program 財經透視.

Stay on the cutting edge by watching both episodes to understand the licensing, regulatory, and application issues associated with stablecoins:

Every summer, over 400 students from the six global campuses within the Kellogg EMBA network — spanning Canada, Asia, Europe, and the United States — gather in Evanston, Chicago, for the highly anticipated Global Network Week. This week is not just about academic rigor; it’s a professionally enriching experience that nurtures collaboration and connection.

Throughout August, students are grouped into three waves, each spending a week at Northwestern’s campus. The schedule is packed with challenging courses on Negotiation Strategies, Strategic Crisis Management, Strategic Decisions in Operations, and Marketing Analytics. Outside the classroom, the learning extends through discussions with peers from various partner schools, each bringing distinct experiences and perspectives.

With nearly every culture and language represented, this is a global classroom where students can network, collaborate, and learn from management leaders worldwide. As their week at Evanston concludes, students leave as more knowledgeable leaders, carrying with them impactful conversations and friendships that bridge continents.

KH28 (Class of 2026) recently concluded an enriching “Marketing Strategy” class with Kellogg Professor Alexander Chernev.

This course is particularly impactful due to its strong focus on real-world applications. Students worked on a series of business cases that encourage independent problem-solving and collaborative discussions.

These cases involved decisions such as building strong brands and developing a value proposition. They drew from a wide range of industries and presented challenging problems that demand creative thinking. This hands-on format not only deepened understanding but also effectively applied theoretical concepts in real-life contexts.

Taking a class with Professor Chernev is always a rewarding experience; he is highly regarded among students, and his Lisbon Global Elective consistently tops the list of most desired courses. In 2022, he also won the prestigious “Faculty of the Year Award” in the Kellogg-HKUST EMBA program.

What does it feel like to learn from a top marketing faculty? Continue reading to find out what our students have to share about the course!

In a recent interview on HOY TV's《財智商傳》, Prof. Kai-Lung Hui, Acting Dean of the HKUST Business School, offered an in-depth look at stablecoins and their applications in today's economy.

This discussion is especially timely, as Hong Kong has taken a leading role in the region by introducing a comprehensive regulatory framework for stablecoins. The Stablecoins Bill, passed in May 2025, requires issuers to obtain licenses from the HKMA and adhere to strict compliance measures. With the law set to take effect on August 1st, 2025, this marks a significant step toward a secure cryptocurrency market.

What are stablecoins, and why do they matter?
