Why are there last minute deals? Operating a scheduled cruise comes with significant fixed cost. An operator is always better off filling the boat albeit at a lower price than going under capacity.

When do last minute deals start surfacing? It typically starts around 2 months prior to departure. We started accessing last minute deals for November since September.

Who is suitable for a last minute deal? Well, you just need to be a little flexible on a few things. Tips for you!
Start by selecting the itinerary. Some questions to ask yourself - do you want just a flavor of Antarctica? Or are you an avid animal watcher? How much time can you spare? Tell us the answers, and we will help you figure out what is right for you. We also don't recommend narrowing in on a particular ship as a first step, but if you have a strong preference, you can always start with that and expand your options subsequently if the deal isn't good enough for you.

We spent 18 nights at sea in the luxury and comfort of Sea Spirit, operated by Quark Expedition. TGIF! A little something on Falkland Islands…

En route to the Antarctic Peninsula from Ushuaia in Argentina, we stopped over at the Falkland Islands (Isla Malvinas) and guess what we saw?

The adorable Southern Rockhopper penguin! The Southern Rockhopper penguin is the smallest Falkland penguin but the most charismatic and popular with wildlife visitors. The Falkland Islands hold a significant proportion of the world population - more than 300,000 pairs!
