The Five Offerings of Sensory Enjoyment
The five sensory offerings are the most exquisite objects that attract the five senses: sight (rupa), hearing (shabda), smell (gandha), taste (rasa), and touch (rasa) (spersha). They are presented as offerings to the deities or gurus as objects of the most pleasant sensory pleasures, indicating both the donor’s wish to please the enlightened beings and a gesture of sensuous renunciation.
Mirror: Sight
Musical Instruments: Hearing
Perfume and Incense Offering: Smell
Fruit and Food Offering: Taste
Silk Cloth: Touch
大日如來代表「色」,即視覺,象徵物為鏡子;
寶生如來代表「聲」,即聽覺,象徵物為琴或鐃鈸;
阿彌陀佛代表「香」,即味覺,象徵物為盈滿香水的海螺;
不空成就如來「味」,即味覺,象徵物為水果/食物;
