Every morning at sunrise, the quiet streets of Luang Prabang awaken. Picture saffron-robed monks moving silently through the dawn, collecting offerings of sticky rice, fruit and prayer in a centuries-old ritual known as Tak Bat, Laos' most iconic spiritual tradition.

To witness this ceremony is to truly feel the essence of Laos' Buddhist culture. It typically begins around 5:30 am in summer and closer to 6:30 am in winter, starting on the bustling Sisavangvong Road and flowing into the peaceful side streets near Wat Mai, Wat Xieng Thong, and Wat Sene.

Many of our travelers have come to observe. Arriving early gives you a chance to see locals setting up and preparing their alms.

It's time for Naadam 🇲🇳
Every July, Mongolia comes alive with the energy of Naadam, a national festival honoring the "Three Manly Sports": wrestling, horse racing, and archery. This year's official celebration runs from July 11th to 15th.

Who are Nepal’s last nomads?
