IMPORTANT: New update about Measles Vaccination proof requirement when entering our country (Honduras)

OFFICIAL STATEMENT
The Secretary of State in the Office of Health, together with the Secretariat of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Secretariat of Tourism, the National Institute of Migration, and the Merchant Marine, in accordance with Executive Decree No. 001-2025, which declares a Health Alert for Measles and was published in the Official Gazette La Gaceta No. 36,876 dated June 27, 2025, informs the general public and media outlets of the following:
1. It is clarified that, to date, no confirmed cases of measles have been reported in the country.
2. The requirement to present a vaccination card will be waived for all international travelers entering the country.
3. The vaccination card requirement will remain in effect only for Honduran citizens between the ages of 12 months and 10 years who are leaving the country to destinations that are experiencing measles outbreaks.
4. The list of countries with active measles outbreaks will be updated and published weekly on the official website of the Ministry of Health, in accordance with information issued by the World Health Organization (WHO).
5. Vaccination sites authorized by the Ministry of Health (SESAL) will be updated and available for the public who need to comply with this national requirement. These sites, including their schedule, will be guaranteed to have available vaccines at air and land border entry points.
6. These provisions will come into effect starting July 7, 2025.
