Roatan Operation Animal Rescue is getting ready for its annual Plates 4 Paws benefit, and for just $40, you get 7 appetizers from 7 different Roatan restaurants PLUS 5 signature cocktails.

Yes. We checked the math.

That's a lot of eating and drinking in the name of puppies and kittens.

As if Roatan needed an official excuse.

KIMPTON is celebrating International Prosecco Day around the pool tomorrow—Thursday—and then Sunday brings International Rum Day.

Which got Madison & Martina wondering...

Exactly how many different drinks can we make with Prosecco and rum?

Mimosas. Bellinis. Spritzes. Rum punch. Daiquiris. Mojitos. Piña Coladas. Dark & Stormys...

And then Madison suggested combining Prosecco AND rum, which is generally how a pleasant Sunday afternoon turns into a Monday morning police report.

Where did all these vehicles on the East Side suddenly come from?

Were they hiding?

Did somebody open a shipping container marked “DO NOT RELEASE UNTIL ROAD IS FINISHED”?

Because suddenly everybody has somewhere to be.

Then somehow the conversation turns to motorcycles... and Madison mentions his biker friend named...

🏍️ Lefty.

Which raises the obvious question:

Is “Lefty” a slightly concerning nickname for a motorcycle rider?

Yes.

Yes, it is.

And then you hear the story of how Lefty actually got his name...
..followed by what Lefty occasionally does to liven up a party.

At that point Martina probably wishes we'd just gone back to talking about traffic.

After all the construction, dust, detours, potholes and conversations about when it would finally be done...

It's done. (Ok... a few more weeks.. or months but definitely not years.. we hope...)

So naturally...

There's more traffic. 😂

Which raises a couple of questions.

Does anyone actually know how many accidents we're having every day now?

And now that getting around the island is easier, what does the new road mean for business?

More llanteras?

More car washes?

More roadside businesses?

And, according to Madison's completely unscientific economic forecast...

🚗 A 47% increase in people who own a Toyota Hilux suddenly believing they're Formula One drivers.

Plus an anticipated boom in the Roatan industry nobody talks about:

People standing beside the road pointing at traffic while explaining how THEY would have designed it.

Madison & Martina discuss the good, the bad, and the slightly terrifying side of having a beautiful new road.

Because apparently when you remove the potholes...

people discover the accelerator.
