Storks are bonded for life, as when they find their soulmate they will stay and cherish that relationship forever.

Our big passion is falconry, oldest sport known to humans where Croatia just recently joined a list of countries where UNESCO is protecting it as intangible heritage.
Bird watching is another big passion we have and is one of the best locations in Croatia to see more than 250 bird species out of more than half is nesting there.

Last alluvial plains in the Danube delta, a journey going back in time where horses, cows and pigs are left to graze freely and move in the area without boundaries.

Time definitely slows down in Lonjsko polje, main reason why we like to execute our camper van tours here is that camper van is a perfect mode of transport to move around. With that freedom of movement and added observation deck on the roof such experiences will fully immerse you in this untouched habitat.

Balance !
Reason why we are in love with . Pure uninterrupted balance dictated fully by nature itself.

On one side balance and trust are needed between falconer, a dog and a bird, working in sinc at all times so to be able to execute when the opportunity occurs.

But the last word has the nature itself and it’s balance will define the probability of successful hunt.

How is that reflected in practical falconry, well if there are other wild birds of pray in the area, our bird will see them and will not be interested to fly from our glove.
Respecting the territory of the native, the possible competition and to preserve itself from possibly getting injured.

Balance, we try to keep it all along our free flying experiences, no matter how small or large the group is.

We are very proud that Croatia has entered the list of countries that has decided to protect falconry as part of it’s intangible heritage.

These hot summer days need a bit of a cooling down right ? 😁
Sometimes our photo safari tours turn into a proper adventure with snow blizzard in May, falling trees, very strong winds, but loooooaaaads of fun 🤙.
Having a Medvednica mountain so close to the city really gives us so much opportunity to enjoy the nature and it’s character.
Hot tea helped to warm the body and apple strudel gave us back the needed energy.

Early morning custom city bicycle tour for our dear clients from US.

Pandemic isn’t stopping people in their urge to travel, learn and to open their horizons. And we just love such attitude.

Early morning, empty city centre, pretty quiet and much easier to provide storytelling and to interact at each stop over.

Here we took a break at Marko Marulic square, opposite of old National library building where my dear grandmother Tatjana was preparing herself for the exams during her law school.

Life is all about opportunity, seize it while it lasts and grasp the experience and knowledge it will bring you.

First guided tour of this season !!!

Niel and Tiguida chose our Photo Safari Tour and experienced temperatures from + 12 degrees to - 2 degrees celsius.

Seeing Medvednica mountain and it’s wildlife so close to the city is always puzzling experience for guests. Buzzards and wild bores shared our routes today while the weather was perfect !

Crystal clear skies enabled us to see Julian Alps in Slovenija, while Sljeme Ski Resort was in full working mode.

Living in capital city of Croatia and being able to ski in just 30 min from the centre is just mind boggling benefit that too many of us locals take for granted.

New gondola is in the final stages of being tested before it’s opening for public.
Can’t wait to rip the enduro trails soon and taking a ride up in cable car.
Will take me back to childhood 🙏.

Convenience is what it is all about today.

Each one of us likes the easiness of having electricity, running water or refrigerator and very often we forget how easy it is for us to do our daily duties.

Making a way to preserve food was a top priority for people that inhabited Zagreb in prehistoric times. Daily chores were probably arduous tasks that lasted much longer than we can imagine. Just a couple of hundred meters away from the Zagreb City Museum where the pottery was found in situ, there is Zagreb’s farmer’s market Dolac, also known as the belly of the city. Dolac is offering a great variety of organic produce and is the place where many locals find their fresh daily food resources. Very easy compared to prehistoric times but located so close to one another makes us think about how convenient life is for all of us today.

Looking at the roughness of the outside edge of the pottery, shows a sign of the level of technique available at that time, but more than enough to serve the purpose, which was to hold the wheat, corn or similar produce.

In those times organic produce was the only thing that existed, but it was hard work to preserve it once nature rewarded you with it’s gifts. 2000 years later we work hard to be able to buy organic produce, so the efforts are still there but the convenience of preserving the products is for sure on our side.

Lobagola B&B supports local organic businesses and farms using their produce, and showcasing the importance of short food channel supply which removes the middle man.

Pulling a stop over during our Photo safari tour means two things!

It’s either a perfect photo opportunity from a vantage point or we’re going to visit something really interesting.

This time it was a stop over for a Zrinski silver mine shaft, being hidden in the dense beech forest of Medvednica nature park.

While going off the beaten track we took our guests through time showcasing how the silver ore was mined through multi-sensory walk. Some of those old traditional terms and language were really funny when translated but then the narrow tunnels and humidity brought a reality check.

Going back to the surface brought a sign of relief which ended with smiles caught on the photo :).

Next stop Medvedgrad fortress and the south tower please!

Keeping the attention of a large group of people seems like a difficult task from everyone's perspective. Our falconry guide’s storytelling will lead the group to dive deep into Croatian heritage and history, taking them to the roots of UNESCO-protected falconry tradition.
Since the 7th century, Illyrian hunters have taken pride in the skill of bird handling, which was a tradition kept alive until the 19th century in the Republic of Dubrovnik, where strict laws defined what breed of hunting birds which member of society could keep and train.
Beginning hesitation will shortly disappear as soon as the first brave volunteer feels the weight of the bird claws resting on the leather glove. The surface of the gloves has been carved by thousands of interactions based on trust between a falconer and a bird.
We won’t enforce any harsh laws during the experience :), thus enabling everyone a chance to taste this majestic ancient skill based on trust.

Standing below Medvedgrad fortress tells us how peasants felt while visiting the Black Queen which resided there. Her evil plans and endeavours are the base of the legend surrounding her life on Medvedgrad fortress. For three centuries the lords of the fortress lived in peace and prosper. That is, until the 15th century when The Black Queen took over. The Black Queen did everything she could to protect the fortress from enemies, even making a pact with the devil. It is said that today the Black Queen still guards the Medvedgrad fortress and her gold, but in the form of a snake, still waiting for someone to remove the curse and in exchange be rewarded with the Medvedgrad gold. Who knows, You might just stumble upon her on Your trip to Medvednica mountain. Re-live the legend of The Black Queen.
