The luxury of having nowhere you need to be.

When I’m designing an itinerary for my clients, it’s about finding the right balance — a few incredible experiences, plenty of time to enjoy where you are, and room for the unexpected.

Sometimes the best part of an itinerary is the space you leave in it.

One of the questions I get asked most is, “How far in advance should I be planning?”

If you’re thinking about travel over the next 12–18 months, here’s what I’d be thinking about…

• Holiday travel: If Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year’s is on your radar, now’s the time to start making plans. The best hotels, villas, and guides are often the first to book up.

• Fall getaways: One of my favorite seasons to travel. Many destinations still have beautiful weather, fewer crowds, and a more relaxed pace.

• Bucket-list trips for 2027: If a safari, Japan, Patagonia, or another once-in-a-lifetime trip has been on your list, I’d start the conversation sooner rather than later. Many of these itineraries are best planned 9–12 months in advance.

Planning ahead doesn’t mean having every detail figured out. Sometimes it just means getting the conversation started.

What’s the next trip you’ve been dreaming about?

Some places don’t fully translate through photos. Patagonia is one of them.

The scale of it all — the changing weather, the colors of the lakes, the way the landscape feels almost unreal in person — it’s difficult to fully explain until you’re there yourself.

What surprised me most was how varied the experience could be. Yes, there are incredible hikes and more active days, but some amazing moments were also the slower ones: horseback riding across open fields, scenic drives through the park, or simply sitting back at the lodge watching the light shift across the mountains.

We stayed at Explora Patagonia, which was an incredible base for exploring Torres del Paine and experiencing Patagonia at a pace that still felt immersive without feeling rushed.

Even after all the photos, it still somehow feels impossible to fully capture.

If Patagonia has been on your list, it’s absolutely worth experiencing properly — and we’d love to help.

There’s a lot that happens long before a flight is booked.

Thoughtful hotel selection.
Understanding how each destination actually feels.
Timing experiences around seasons, weather, and pace.
Finding guides who can open doors, not just follow scripts.
Designing days that feel unhurried rather than overstuffed.

This is the part most people don’t see.
It’s also the part that makes the difference between a trip that’s fine and one that feels effortless.

If you’re starting to think about travel for the year ahead, this is where I come in.

The best trips are rarely last-minute decisions.

This is often the season when people start thinking more intentionally about travel.
Revisiting the trips they’ve been meaning to take.
The places they’ve saved.
The experiences they’ve imagined.
The time they want to prioritize.

You don’t need every detail figured out today. Sometimes the most meaningful trips begin with a simple thought:
“Maybe this is the year.”

And when you’re ready to start thinking it through, I’m here.

A look back at the trips that defined last year.

From Patagonia to Egypt to the charming villages of France and Italy, and so many places in between, last year was filled with travel that felt intentional, meaningful, and designed around exactly what each client wanted from their time away.

The theme was clear: people were ready for big experiences — bucket-list destinations, milestone celebrations, unfiltered adventure, and travel that brought families, couples, and friends together in ways everyday life never quite allows.

Clients gravitated toward places with depth, character, and room to explore — choosing not just where to go, but why.

I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who trusted me with their travels last year. It’s a privilege to help bring these moments to life.

If you’re thinking about a meaningful trip for 2026 or beyond, I’d love to help bring it to life.

Clients of The Atlas Upgrade are currently off exploring Egypt this week— and I’m loving seeing their trip unfold from afar. 🇪🇬

They started in Giza, where their hotel had epic views of the pyramids, then kicked things off with a sunrise hot air balloon ride — soaring over the Valley of the Kings — and are now cruising down the Nile in style. All with private guides and drivers throughout for a seamless, tailored experience.

Some highlights from their custom itinerary:
✔️ VIP access at the paws of the Sphinx
✔️ Special permit visit to Wahte Tomb
✔️ Private hot air balloon ride over Luxor with ch*****ne breakfast
✔️ Abu Simbel with a private Egyptologist
✔️ Afternoon tea at the historic Old Cataract Hotel
✔️ Felucca sail at sunset
✔️ And so many ancient temples and stories to uncover

Designing this itinerary reminded me why Egypt is such a special destination — if Egypt’s on your list, what would be your must-do? Let me know in the comments. 🐪👇🏼

Work, but make it Italy. 🇮🇹✈️

I’m back in Italy for a mix of hotel site visits, unique experiences, and a little (mandatory) pasta research. Stops include Rome, Lake Garda, Lake Como, Milan, Florence, and Forte dei Marmi—where I’ll be checking out top hotels, exploring local culture, and, of course, making time for some incredible food and w**e.

A huge thank you to my incredible partners for hosting me—excited to experience and share the best of what’s out there.

Thinking about a trip to Italy? Drop your questions in the comments! 👇🏼
