🏆 Valbandon Open Under the Baking Lid – a night of flavours, fire and great atmosphere!

Congratulations to Djeca Perojske šume, winners of the Best Meat Čripnja and the Overall Champions, taking home the travelling trophy, while the title of Best Fish Čripnja went to Opaka ekipa!

The dishes were judged by masterchefs Antonio Brajković, Moris Vareško and Igor Ivanović. Visitors also enjoyed the delicious Mega Meat Čripnja, which sold out in record time, and a live cooking show by Antonio Brajković, with a helping hand from Moris Vareško.

Great food, music and a fantastic, friendly atmosphere made this another unforgettable Valbandon Open under the Čripnja. Thank you to everyone who took part and joined us for this special evening!

On August 22nd, Valbandon becomes the stage for Valbandon Open Under the Baking Lid – a delicious competition where fire, embers and tradition come together to create unforgettable flavours.

25 teams will compete for the title of Master of the Baking Lid, putting their skills and creativity to the test.
And there’s more! Young and talented chef Antonio Brajković will bring his cooking show, sharing his passion and culinary tricks with the audience.

Come and discover why the magic of slow cooking under glowing embers tastes simply different.

🐟 Things That Fishermen Know – a night of fishing traditions in Fažana! ⚓🌊

A big congratulations to Gabriel Bergić and his nona Davorka Spinotti, who took 1st place in the 24th School of Salting Pilchard! 🏆 They received a beautiful sardine sculpture carved from olive wood and Marčeta wine.

🥈 2nd place: Endi Filipić Hasanović & his mum Aleksandra Filipić – a sardine sculpture and Jukopila cheese.
🥉 3rd place: Emil Raškolić – a sardine sculpture and olive oil from the Fažana Olive Grove.

The evening on the Fažana waterfront was filled with traditional fishing workshops, the “Paolo & Nina Fish Market”, creative “Sea Stories” workshops, night fishing under lanterns, and great music by Klapa Intriga, Erik Balija, and Musicity.

Thank you for joining us for a lovely evening by the sea, celebrating Fažana’s fishing traditions, good company and, of course, our beloved pilchard! 💙🐟

Celebrate with us as we announce the Best Salted Pilchards of 2026, prepared by the participants of this April's School of Salting, with awards presented to the top three entries. Enjoy traditional fishing workshops, step back in time at Fažana's historic fish market, try night fishing under lanterns, bring the little ones to the children's activities, and enjoy live performances by Klapa Intriga, Erik Balija, and Musicity.

🎶 Last night, the Fažana Twilights classical music festival welcomed audiences to a captivating performance by young Croatian percussionist Dane Franolić. Playing the marimba—a remarkable instrument that audiences rarely have the opportunity to see and hear in a solo concert—he took listeners on a musical journey from Bach and Mozart to contemporary works, creating an unforgettable evening in the beautiful setting of the Church of St. Cosmas and Damian. ✨
