WELCOME to the island of olives, w**e, figs and honey – an oasis just 9 nm away from Split, ideal for sailboat guests, families and all those looking for a stress relief holiday. Island Šolta is only 19 kilometers long, 4.5 kilometers wide and in the very vicinity of the city of Split to which is connected with eight connections daily in the season. Avoid the inland traffic jams on your way to the crowded beaches and hop on the ferry, chill on the deck and within an hour, arrive to the place where the sea is still crystal clear, beaches are not crowded and the prices are still fair and affordable. After swimming, while you are still in the summer mood – relaxed, tanned and salty, we recommend visiting our house holding farms both on coast and inland where you can see how the oil, w**e or honey is made and produced. Having a glass of Dobričić, an original sort that can nowadays only be found on Šolta, served in an authentic ‘’konoba’’, with bites of olive pate or salted anchovies in an award winning olive oil should sound interesting. Looking for more adrenalin? This year we finished a dramatic free climbing rock on the south side of the island just above the sea. South side of the island hides plenty of bays and inlets that you cannot reach by car and some of them hide the best places to eat fresh and homemade meals you will not easily forget. Some of these spots are already marked in the charts of the sailing boats that usually spend the nights in Maslinica or Stomorska. In these two places you can find safe berths and good conditions for sailors, Maslinica having a brand new marina and Stomorska offering berths in the center of the village. Tourist offices and DMC travel agencies in Stomorska, Nečujam, Rogač and Maslinica are at your disposal for any inquiries, promo materials or suggestions…or simply wi-fi. Na Uvati Ćuvitu ne trče samo veliki – 17. listopada održava se i Dječja utrka! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️
Čeka ih 800 metara trčanja, navijanja, veselja i onog najvažnijeg – ponosnog prolaska kroz cilj. 🏁

👕 A imamo i posebnu dječju majicu sa slike!

Kako biste osigurali majicu za svoje dijete, potrebno ga je prijaviti i uplatiti startninu najkasnije do kraja 8. 10.

The Project SOLENTIA OLEVM ET VINUM ADRIATICUM is a joint project of the Archaeological Museum in Zagreb Arheološki muzej u Zagrebu - AMZ and the Faculty of Archaeology of the University of Warsaw Wydział Archeologii Uniwersytet Warszawski The Croatian part of the project is led by Dr Jana Kopačkova, curator of the AMZ, while the Polish part of the project is led by Univ. Prof. Tomasz Waliszewski, professor of archaeology .

The Project SOLENTIA began in the spring of 2026 with a large-scale survey of the island of Šolta and LiDAR scanning. The focus of the autumn season is the underwater survey of the Piškera Bay where the mysterious “Dicletian’s fishpond” is located. The underwater team is led by Univ. Prof. Bartosz Kontny, the Dean of the Faculty of Archaeology. He is supported by Magdalena Nowakowska and Dr Michal Grabowski

PROJEKT SOLENTIA OLEUM ET VINUM ADRIATICUM – NASTAVAK ARHEOLOŠKIH ISTRAŽIVANJA NA OTOKU ŠOLTI

Projekt SOLENTIA OLEUM ET VINUM ADRIATICUM zajednički je projekt Arheološkog muzeja u Zagrebu i Fakulteta za arheologiju Sveučilišta u Varšavi, usmjeren na istraživanje i dokumentiranje arheološke baštine otoka Šolte.

Hrvatski dio projekta vodi dr. Jana Kopačkova, kustosica Arheološkog muzeja u Zagrebu, dok poljski dio projekta vodi univ. prof. Tomasz Waliszewski , profesor arheologije Sveučilišta u Varšavi.

Projekt je započeo u proljeće 2026. godine reambulacijom otoka Šolte i LiDAR snimanjem, čime su prikupljeni vrijedni podaci za daljnja arheološka istraživanja i dokumentiranje kulturne baštine otoka.

U središtu jesenske sezone nalazi se početak sondažnih arheoloških istraživanja rimskog lokaliteta kod Sv.Mihovila u polju.

U okviru projekta na terenskim će istraživanjima sudjelovati i šestero poljskih studenata preddiplomskog studija arheologije, koji će kroz arheološku praksu steći neposredno iskustvo u metodama terenskog arheološkog rada i istraživanja.

Posebno ističemo da se aktivnosti projekta provode uz potporu Splitsko-dalmatinske županije, Općine Šolta i Turističke zajednice Općine Šolta, čime se dodatno potvrđuje važnost suradnje lokalne zajednice i znanstvenih i kulturnih institucija u istraživanju, zaštiti i valorizaciji kulturne baštine.

Projekt SOLENTIA OLEUM ET VINUM ADRIATICUM predstavlja vrijedan primjer međunarodne znanstvene i stručne suradnje te važan doprinos boljem poznavanju arheološke prošlosti otoka Šolte i šireg jadranskog prostora.
