Lavender harvest is traditionally done by hand using sickles, and the collected lavender is dried and distilled to produce essential oils. It is an important part of local culture and identity, accompanied by festivities such as the Lavender Festival in Velo Grablje.

Gratitude that touches the heart

At the end of an unforgettable day spent on a tour around the island of Hvar, one of our dear guests surprised us with a very special gesture. As a token of appreciation for the experience, he gifted us his own published novel, personally signed and dedicated.

Moments like these fill us with joy and remind us why we do what we do. Every kind word, every smile, and heartfelt gesture like this one confirms that what we create truly leaves a lasting impression.

Andy Donaldson on Hvar - World Record Holder and Ambassador of Ultra Swimming 33.3!

This year, the island of Hvar had the pleasure of welcoming a very special guest, Scottish-Australian open water swimmer Andy Donaldson, a world record holder and the only person to complete all Oceans Seven channel swims in under a year. His achievements inspire swimmers and adventurers worldwide, and Hvar was proud to be part of his journey.

Andy visited the island as the official ambassador of the Ultra Swimming 33.3 competition, which is now being held on Hvar for the second year in a row, bringing together elite swimmers from around the globe.

As a partner of the event, we had the opportunity to personally meet Andy and spend a few unforgettable days with him. We showed him some of our favourite corners of the island, took him on the kind of trips we usually offer our guests, and shared with him the true essence of Hvar, untouched nature, authentic villages, and the unique island spirit that can’t be explained, only experienced.

Thank you, Andy, for your inspiration, positive energy, and the powerful message you carry, we look forward to crossing paths again!

World Theatre Day – March 27 🎭

Did you know that Hvar is home to the first public theatre in Europe? The Hvar Public Theatre, established in 1612, was a groundbreaking project of its time created to be a space open to all citizens, not just the nobility. It symbolized freedom, community, and the progressive spirit of the town.

📍 Located on the upper floor of the historic Arsenal building, this theatre has stood the test of time and is considered one of the oldest surviving theatres in Europe.

To celebrate World Theatre Day, the Hvar Theatre will be open to visitors on March 27 from 10 AM to 12 PM. Step inside this cultural gem and feel the echoes of centuries past where stories, performances, and history still live on.

Hvar Gravel Challenge 2025 – biciklistička avantura koja otkriva skrivene ljepote otoka

Hvar se priprema za drugu po redu Hvar Gravel Challenge utrku, jedinstveni biciklistički izazov koji će 29. i 30. ožujka 2025. okupiti deset odvažnih sudionika. Na ruti dugoj 400 km, uz gotovo 9000 m uspona, biciklisti će prolaziti kroz netaknute predjele otoka, spajajući sport, avanturu i istraživanje.

Ovaj događaj, u organizaciji Riccardo Kuhar, promovira gravel biciklizam – disciplinu koja kombinira cestovne i makadamske rute, omogućujući sudionicima da dožive autentičan Hvar, daleko od turističkih gužvi.

Hvar Gravel Challenge nije samo utrka, već i snažna promocija održivog turizma i aktivnog načina života. Pokazuje da je Hvar idealna destinacija za bicikliste i ljubitelje avantura tijekom cijele godine.
