Jadrija has been a favourite beach resort of Šibenik residents and visitors since as far back as 1921. The urban charm of small beach cabins has been carried over onto a settlement of modern houses, built mostly as vacation homes. Our liitle house was built in 1968 by our great aunt Slavka and was one of the first vacation houses in the area. Since then we and our guests enjoyed many spring, summe
r and autumn vacations in the beautiful surroundings and scents of the Adriatic Sea, pine forests, rosemary and lavander with the rhythmic sounds of crickets. Thanks to Jadrija's vicinity and good transport connections with both the mainland and the sea, it is rightfully thought of as a charming suburb of Šibenik. Nicholas Fortress gives spectacular views of the sunset against the pure blueness of the sea, and the plasant shade of pine trees. Whether you prefer a pleasnt walk, cycling or a game of basketball, there are many tourism facilities, sports activities, and well known organized events, such as the famous Jadrija festivity and a windsurfing regatta that will offer an array of vacation delights for both a peaceful family stay and an active sports vacation. Jadrija is located 13 km from Šibenik and is connected to the Adriatic Highway (Jadranska Magistrala). Daily boat rides from Jadrija will take you to Šibenik in 15 minutes through the beautiful Cannal of Šibenik and next to the St. Nicholas Fortress.
