Why Direct Reservations? ❤️

With summer just around the corner and everyone starting to plan their vacation, we’ve thought it was time to address the topic of Direct Reservations, i.e. personal agreements with hosts about renting the Villa.

No doubt, reservations over Booking.com, Airbnb and similar portals seem much more secure - both for guests and hosts 🤗.

On the other hand, if a property has a long-term well-deserved reputation, a web-site and SM profiles, a bunch of great reviews all over the Internet, an easily accessible owner and a much BETTER direct offer, why not negotiate a mutually beneficial deal?! 😉

What’s in it for the Host?
✔️ no intermediary commission
✔️ no tax on intermediary commission❗️
✔️ more flexibility in terms of payment methods (bank, paypal, cash…)
✔️ more flexibility in terms of payout deadlines (some booking portals pay out the rent as late as a few weeks after the reservation end or later)
✔️ it’s kind of nice to have a personal friendly contact with a guest 😍 rather than an animate system

What’s in it for the Guest?
❣️ lower price (with the commission out of the question)
❣️ more flexibility in terms of payment (bank, paypal, cash…)
❣️ same as Booking’s or better cancellation policy (a security deposit is present but we refund it until up to 2 months before check-in)
❣️ more convenient payout deadlines
❣️ sssso much nicer personal contact with the host who’s there in any messenger you want, to answer all your questions, give advice and order you a taxi or help you set up a boat trip. Or whatever!

There, we’ve put it all on the table. 😄 Hopefully, this brief cry from the heart proves useful to someone and can contribute to a much more enjoyable holiday experience.
