Zavjetni darovi Sv.Luci u crkvi Svih Svetih u Korculi.
Sveta Lucija – navjestiteljica božićnog svjetla
Sveta Lucija od Sirakuze kršćanska je mučenica koja je zbog svoje vjere podnijela mučeništvo 303. godine. Zaštitnica je slijepih (tjelesno i duhovno), krojača i kovača.
Jedna legenda svjedoči da je jedan mladić bio očaran ljepotom Lucijinih očiju. Lucija je tada sama sebi iskopala oči, da ih pošalje nasrtljivom mladiću kako bi ga se riješila. Mladi poganin je bio toliko ganut Lucijinom gestom da je i sam postao kršćaninom i svjedokom vjere koju je Lucija djelom pokazala. Predaja kaže da joj je Bog dao nove oči. Stoga se Lucija prvenstveno smatra zaštitnicom slijepih i slabovidnih.

U tradiciji narodne i crkvene pobožnosti svetu Luciju vrlo često prikazuju s pladnjom i parom očiju na njemu. Narodna tradicija je povezala ugaslu svjetlost njezinih slijepih očiju s najdužom noći zimskog sunčeva ciklusa. Pripisivali su joj posebnu moć – sveta Lucija bi zimskom suncu povratila snagu – svjetlost, da bi moglo ponovno zagrijati promrzlu zemlju iz koje bi niknuli novi plodovi.
