Twenty years ago, Gaby Pils discovered Mlini. She has been coming back ever since. ❤️

What began with a holiday and a chance meeting with the Kulišić family grew into a connection that has lasted for two decades.

For Gaby, returning from Linz means coming back to the sea, the food and the people she has grown close to over the years. Most of all, it means returning to a place that feels like a second home.

Thank you, Gaby, for keeping Mlini in your heart for 20 years, and to the Kulišić family for the hospitality that started it all. 💙

ŽUPA TOLD BY LOCALS

This time, we spent a morning with Andrea, first at her home and then at the local market, where her everyday life is closely connected to the flavours, customs and traditions of Župa dubrovačka.

We talked about figs and how they are dried on traditional jese, what visitors love to find at her stand, life at the market, and what happens when the summer season comes to an end.

Behind it all are years of knowledge, work and dedication to preserving traditions that are still part of everyday life today.

A tradition worth keeping. ❤️

ŽUPA KROZ PRIČE LOKALACA

Ovaj put proveli smo jutro s Andreom - najprije u njezinu domu, a zatim i na placi, gdje se njezina svakodnevica isprepliće s okusima, običajima i tradicijom Župe dubrovačke.

Razgovarali smo o smokvama i njihovu sušenju na tradicionalnim jesama, o tome što gosti najviše vole pronaći na njezinu štandu, životu na placi, ali i o tome što se događa kada ljetna sezona završi.

Iza svega stoje godine znanja, rada i očuvanja tradicije, koja je i danas dio svakodnevnog života.

Tradicija koju vrijedi čuvati. ❤️

Za muškarca iz Župe narodna nošnja nikada nije bila tek odjeća.
Sa sobom je nosila cijelu obitelj - njezinu povijest i nasljeđe, ponos i teškoće, najsretnije dane i one koje bi najradije zaboravila.

Svaka je nit čuvala nešto od generacija koje su bile prije nas, satkana strpljenjem, poštovanjem i ljubavlju.

Kada bi muškarac obukao svoju nošnju, nije predstavljao samo sebe. Nosio je ime svoje obitelji, svoj dom i mjesto iz kojeg dolazi. A i danas, kada se te nošnje ponovno obuku, s njima se tiho vraćaju i njihove priče. Najdraže nam je kad se bliži vrijeme Feste sv. Vlaha i onda krene ono najdraže pitanje: “Oblačiš li se za Sv. Vlaha?”

Oblači se, naravno. Možda ih upravo zato i danas gledamo s tolikim ponosom. One nisu samo ostatci nekog prošlog vremena. One su dio onoga što jesmo.
A ovo je tek početak. ❤️

Not a sport, but love at first ball. 💙

Not just a game, but a battle of strength, speed, adrenaline, and heart.

We don’t just play water polo here. We live it. In the sea, from the stands, and even from afar. We grow up with it, grow older with it, but somehow, the feeling never changes.

It was such a pleasure to host the World Aquatics Masters in Mlini and to see different generations come together and take part in the competition.

We hope everyone had as much fun as we did, because we certainly enjoyed every second of it.
