🚴‍♂️✨ Istria – a premium destination best experienced on two wheels

Istria is not simply ridden. Istria is experienced — with every single pedal stroke.

This time, we designed and completed a cycling tour that brings together the very best of the region: an active travel experience, authentic gastronomy, and landscapes that leave a lasting impression.

The tour lasted 4 full days of cycling, averaging around 60 kilometres per day. It was carefully designed using only smaller local roads and existing cycling routes, with the goal of delivering a truly authentic experience – away from main traffic routes and closer to the rhythm of local life and landscapes.

The route led through the heart of Istria: Motovun and Grožnjan, two hilltop gems offering breathtaking views. Between them lies the Mirna River Valley – a natural corridor of peace, greenery, and history.

From Vižinada to Motovun, the ride followed viaducts with panoramic views and a unique tunnel beneath Motovun – segments that combine engineering heritage with natural beauty into one seamless experience.

In Tinjan, we paused for a break and enjoyed a tasting of Istrian prosciutto and local delicacies, accompanied by stories and legends preserved in nearby Kringa for centuries.

The journey continued through vineyards and olive groves around Červar, Tar, Nova Vas, and Kaštelir – a landscape that offers not only beauty, but also a rhythm that naturally slows you down and connects you to the environment.

The coastal section reveals a different side of Istria – Poreč and Vrsar, towns where history meets the Mediterranean. Vrsar also carries the inspiration of Casanova. The panoramic views before entering Kontija forest remain among the most memorable moments of the tour.

Rovinj welcomed us with its unmistakable charm, while the route towards Bale revealed Austro-Hungarian fortifications and layers of history visible throughout the region.

To conclude – the magnificent P**a Arena. A landmark ending to a journey that is not just a cycling tour, but a carefully curated destination experience.

Istria in this format is not just an outdoor destination.

It is a premium experience – where active travel, culture, gastronomy, and nature come together in one story.
