The Barber of Seville at the Small Roman Theatre in P**a!

One of the world’s most beloved operas comes to one of P**a’s most remarkable historic stages. On 26 August, Rossini’s The Barber of Seville will be performed at the Small Roman Theatre in P**a, bringing an evening of wit, romance and musical virtuosity under the summer sky.

Leading soloists of SNG Opera and Ballet Ljubljana, under the musical direction of Ayrton Desimpelaere and stage direction by Marin Blažević, will present the masterpiece in a dynamic contemporary semi-staged production, with the orchestra on stage.

From Figaro’s clever schemes to Rossini’s unmistakable melodies, experience a classic of the operatic repertoire in the heart of ancient P**a!

90 minutes of Istria for a multi-million German-speaking audience!

Crystal-clear waters, ancient towns, wild landscapes, truffles, gastronomy and unforgettable local stories – Istria takes centre stage in a special 90-minute episode of “Wunderschön”, one of Germany’s most successful travel programmes.

Hosted by Stephanie Müller-Spirra, the journey takes viewers from Cape Kamenjak, P**a and the Brijuni Islands to Učka, Buzet, Pazin, Poreč and Rovinj, meeting some remarkable people along the way – including Baby Lasagna, Rade Šerbedžija and Ines Papert, as well as local hosts who bring the authentic spirit of Istria to life.

Produced for WDR, MDR and SWR, the programme is expected to reach around 2 million viewers with its first broadcast, with repeat broadcasts across Germany, Austria and Switzerland bringing its potential total audience to more than 5 million viewers.

From kayaking and truffle hunting to Roman heritage, the Adriatic underwater world and contemporary gastronomy – discover how Wunderschön captured the many faces of Istria. 💙

Protect Istria. One careless moment can be enough to start a fire!

During the hot and dry summer months, responsible behaviour is essential to protecting Istria’s forests, landscapes and communities.


The Croatian Forests (Hrvatske šume) and the Croatian Firefighting Association (Hrvatska vatrogasna zajednica) are once again reminding residents and visitors that fire prevention starts with each of us. Avoid open flames, never discard cigarette butts, fully extinguish barbecues and never use drones near active firefighting operations.

If you notice smoke or fire, keep a safe distance and immediately call 193 or 112. Do not approach the area to watch, photograph or film firefighting efforts.

Road safety is a shared responsibility!

The new “Share the Road” campaign encourages cyclists and drivers to respect one another and make safer choices on Istria’s roads.

The campaign introduces a new Istria road cycling map, safety recommendations and alternative routes to high-traffic road sections – helping cyclists plan safer and more enjoyable rides.

The initiative is led by the Istrian Tourism Development Agency (Istarska razvojna turistička agencija) – Istra Outdoor, in cooperation with the Administrative Department for Tourism of the Istrian Region, Croatian Roads, the County Road Administration and the Ministry of the Interior.
