Rovinj is switching into Weekend.hr mode!

From 24 to 27 September, Weekend Media Festival returns to Rovinj, bringing together leading names from media, communications, technology, business and the creative industries. This year’s edition expands across eight festival formats, turning the city into a meeting point for ideas, new perspectives and international networking.

For the tenth time, Istria has been named the world’s best olive-growing region by Flos Olei, one of the leading international guides dedicated to extra virgin olive oil.

The Flos Olei 2027 edition features 63 Istrian producers among the world’s top 500, while Mate and Ipša achieved the maximum score of 100/100 - a historic first for Istria.

With 20 producers scoring 95 points or more, this latest recognition confirms what has been built over years: exceptional quality, strong local identity and a deep connection between Istrian olive oil and its terroir.

[Traffic Regulation in Istria on 3 October 2026 - Istria300]

On Saturday, 3 October, the international road cycling marathon Istria300 will take place across Istria, with the start and finish in Poreč. During the event, temporary traffic regulations will be in place on a number of roads across the peninsula.

Traffic restrictions will particularly affect routes in and around Poreč, Labin and Pazin, as well as several sections in western, southern, central, eastern and northern Istria. Some roads will be partially or fully closed for limited periods, with alternative routes and traffic management in place.

If you’re travelling through Istria that day, we recommend checking the traffic information in advance and allowing some extra time for your journey.

This year’s CRO Race once again brings some of the world’s leading cyclists and teams to Croatia, with one of the stages finishing in Labin, where the historic old town and its distinctive bell tower will provide a spectacular backdrop to the race.

Part of the official UCI international calendar, CRO Race brings together around 140 professional cyclists across six stages and more than 1,000 kilometres. Beyond the competition itself, the race showcases Croatia’s landscapes and destinations to audiences in nearly 200 countries worldwide.
