Mornings begin with coffee and conversations at the local cafés. The waterfront becomes a favourite spot for a walk, the old town feels easier to explore and everyday life takes centre stage.

At the heart of Poreč’s historic centre stands the Euphrasian Basilica, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the finest examples of early Byzantine art in the Mediterranean 🏛️

From its magnificent golden mosaics to its ancient architecture, the Euphrasian Basilica is one of Poreč’s most extraordinary treasures.

Its story dates back to the 4th century, when Christianity began to shape the city. The complex we see today was largely built in the 6th century, during the time of Bishop Euphrasius, whose name the basilica still carries.

Step inside and you’ll discover magnificent golden mosaics, marble columns, intricate stonework and layers of history preserved within the walls. The famous
mosaics depicting the Virgin Mary, Christ and the saints are considered among the finest examples of Byzantine mosaic art. ✨

📣 JAVNI POZIV ZA POTPORE MANIFESTACIJAMA U 2027. GODINI

Turistička zajednica grada Poreča objavila je Javni poziv za dodjelu bespovratnih potpora manifestacijama u 2027. godini.

Poziv je namijenjen organizatorima manifestacija na području Grada Poreča - Parenzo koje doprinose razvoju i obogaćivanju turističke ponude.

Potpore se dodjeljuju za organizaciju i realizaciju različitih vrsta manifestacija:
🎶 zabavne i kulturne manifestacije
🏆 sportske manifestacije
🍷 eno-gastronomske manifestacije
🏛️ povijesne i tradicijske manifestacije
🎨 umjetničke manifestacije
🤝 kongrese i druge manifestacije koje doprinose ciljevima javnog poziva.

Pack your favourite snacks, find your spot in nature to enjoy Poreč in the open air - October is ideal for that 🧺

Across Poreč and its surrounding neighbourhoods, more than 30 picnic zones have been created, providing accessible spaces for sitting, socialising and enjoying the outdoors.

One of them can be found at Materada – Sv. Martin Beach, where a newly equipped picnic zone with tables, benches and a wooden shelter creates a welcoming spot for relaxing between swims, enjoying a snack or simply taking in the surroundings. 🌿☀️
