Last day of school for them ๐Ÿ“š
Last day of peace for us โ˜ฎ๏ธ๐Ÿ˜‚

It's officially waterslide season and I wish we were at this epic Austrian pool we visited in 2018. ๐Ÿ’ฆ What a view! If the pool was open, the Bademeister would raise the yellow balloon and yes, we followed all of the slide rules. It was an epic day!

Tiny cars. Race cars. Prototype cars and one mom wondering how anyone fit inside that BMW Isetta. ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ So glad we didn't skip this stop!

Watch out or I'm going to throw YOUR cookie at ME! ๐Ÿช It's been 10+ years and thankfully these cranky cousins have mellowed out into besties and travel partners.

Somewhere in Germany, a tiny pilot just nailed another perfect landing. โœˆ๏ธ

This is Knuffingen Airport at Miniatur Wunderland in Hamburg, where hundreds of flights take off, land, taxi, and return to the gate completely automatically.
We spent far longer watching these planes than we intended!

We thought Miniatur Wunderland in Hamburg would be a giant model train exhibit. Instead, it felt like stepping into tiny worlds hidden inside other tiny worlds.

Miniature airports where planes actually taxi, take off and land. Tiny villages packed with hidden stories. Real locations recreated in astonishing detail. Somewhere between engineering, art and dream sequence.

The longer we looked, the more we noticed. Like a dragon shaped monorail, miniature lavender fields inspired by a real abbey in Provence and tiny scenes unfolding in every corner.

One of the most unexpectedly magical stops on our Germany trip with Jack.

Welcome to Knuffingen Airport at Miniatur Wunderland in Hamburg, where planes taxi, take off, land and return to the gate completely automatically. Watching it in warp speed somehow makes it feel even more real. โœˆ๏ธ๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ช

One of the coolest things we saw during our recent trip to Germany. A new blog post about our time in Hamburg is coming soon!

Inside the PierDrei hotel, the walls turned into tiny galaxies and floating miniature universes. Less like a hotel and more like stepping into someone's imagination -- the perfect introduction to Miniatur Wunderland.

The Messerschmitt KR200 may look futuristic, but this tiny โ€œbubble carโ€ was actually built in the 1950s by German aircraft manufacturer Messerschmitt.

After WWII, aircraft production restrictions pushed the company into an entirely different kind of engineering challenge: affordable transportation.

The result? One of the strangest and coolest vehicles we saw at Autostadt in Wolfsburg, Germany ๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ช
