35, with 36 quietly waiting around the corner… and apparently I’m in my Neverita era. 🧊
There are seasons of your life when you spend so much energy trying to understand people, keep people, accommodate people, forgive people, make things work with people…
And then one day, something in you gets very quiet.
You stop chasing the explanation.
You stop forcing the connection.
You stop mistaking proximity for intimacy.
You stop making yourself smaller just because someone is uncomfortable with the woman you’re becoming.
Somewhere between the flights I took alone, the cities I wandered through alone, the dinners I sat at alone, and all the moments where there was nobody else to distract me from my own thoughts…
I learned something I wish I had learned sooner:
I actually really like my own company.
Traveling alone taught me how to create happiness that doesn’t require an audience.
And now, sitting at 35 with 36 only two months away, I find myself looking at life a little differently.
People can leave.
Plans can change.
Relationships can end.
Someone you thought would be permanent can become a memory.
Life will humble you in ways you never scheduled for.
So I’ve stopped trying to control who stays.
I expect the unexpected.
I prepare for the hard days.
I make room for the beautiful ones.
And I’ve become much more protective of the peace I worked so hard to build.
Maybe that’s what your 30s really do to you.
You start realizing you can love people deeply without centering your entire life around them.
You can want love without desperately needing it.
You can enjoy companionship without being afraid of solitude.
You can leave the table without wondering who will notice.
And you can build a life so full that someone entering it feels like an addition not a rescue.
So yes…
At times, I’m in my Neverita era.
A little harder to reach.
A lot harder to disturb.
Very comfortable with my own company.
And surprisingly happy here. 🤍
At 35, with 36 approaching, I have absolutely no idea what the next chapter will bring.
Maybe love.
Maybe more stamps in my passport.
Maybe people I haven’t met yet who will completely change my life.
Maybe things I can’t even
