• leafy seadragons (Phycodurus eques) were named after a dragon from Chinese mythology
• they belong to the same group as seahorses and are an endemic species that lives in the waters of eastern and southern Australia
• they hide while moving — thanks to their swaying leaves, they camouflage themselves in algae, imitating their swaying
