CELEBRATE THE CROATIAN HOLIDAY OF ST. MARTIN’S DAY

Here’s one holiday we think will be favored by many around the world. The Croatian holiday day of wine ‘Martinje’, or St. Martin’s Day feast is the celebration of baptizing young wine. We celebrate the new wine of the year! Tastings of the new wine can be found all around the country held at vineyards, at people at home and in bars & restaurants.

Saint Martin was a bishop from France who is known as the patron saint of winemakers across Europe. St. Martin’s Day, in Croatia known as Martinje, celebrates the end of the agrarian year and the beginning of harvesting, but it also marks the day when must traditionally turns into wine. This tradition has been celebrated since the 17th century in Croatia.  During the celebrations they usually prepare “Martin’s goose”. St. Martins Day is always celebrated on the 11th of November in Croatia. It is also the last feast before the fasting of advent.

If you have Croatia on top of your bucket list, you are not fun of crowds and heat, but you enjoy wine and great food, November is a perfect choice for your vacation and tour arround many great wine cellers arround Croatia. From hilly area arround Zagreb to Slavonija, arround magnificent Istria throughout Dalmatia and Dubrovnik county there are so many great wine producers, so many wine varieties that it would be pity not to visit them.

The small pieces of memories why everything is worth!
Today was my last day in Uniline. After more than 7 years, I have packed my belongings and moved. There is much more then a box we carry by leaving our workplace. We make memories, leave trace, and carry experience for a lifetime. For all of that I will be grateful to the company that was my home for a quite a while!

[HRV] Danas se održao sastanak između čelnih ljudi Unilinea i korejske delegacije iz Jeje Tourism Associationa (JTA) koji su u posjetu Istri. Gosti iz Južne Koreje pokazali su veliki interes za istraživanje ljepota Hrvatske što je rezultat dugoročnog iskustva i napora Unilinea koji posjeduje dva ureda na području istočne Azije, u Seulu i Šangaju. Tijekom pandemije korona virusa broj posjetitelja iz tog područja znatno je pao, no s obzirom da korejski posjetitelji Hrvatsku smatraju poželjnom i sigurnom destinacijom, broj organiziranih posjeta u zadnje se vrijeme povećava, istaknuo je Boris Žgomba, Predsjednik Uprave Unilinea.

[ENG] Today, a meeting was held between the leaders of Uniline and the Korean delegation of Jeje Tourism Association (JTA), who visited Istria. Guests from South Korea showed great interest in exploring the beauties of Croatia, which is the result of long-term experience and efforts of Uniline, which has two offices in East Asia, in Seoul and Shanghai. During the coronavirus pandemic, the number of visitors from the area dropped significantly, but given that Korean visitors consider Croatia a desirable and safe destination, the number of organized visits has been increasing lately, pointed out Boris Žgomba, president of the Uniline Management Board.
