A Fairytale of Zagreb: An inclusive Christmas family magic among the hidden treasures of Middle-European culture; 4 days/3 nights for 6-8 people
DAY 1 (Meet and Greet Day)**
A welcome at Zagreb International Airport followed by a half an hour’s drive to a 5 star hotel situated in the vicinity of the main Zagreb square, one kilometre from all major Advent venues.
For the first evening in Zagreb we will visit all main cultural attractions and Christmas markets in the Lower city area accompanied by a local guide that includes: a visit to the Republic of Croatia square, famous for some of the most representative buildings of the city of Zagreb – Croatian National Theatre, Museum of Arts and Crafts and Rectorate building of the University of Zagreb, proceed to the Advent Wreath manifestation which takes place on the streets surrounding Flower Square, before reaching Ban Jelačić square, the central town square and location of the Christmas Tale - the imaginative fairy-tale scenography, including the abundance of decorated wooden houses with handcrafted souvenirs and Christmas gifts, good gastronomic offer of cooked sausages, roasted chestnuts, pastries and cakes, as well as mulled wine.
The tour continues with a stroll towards a wonderful fairy-tale setting with unique Christmas souvenirs at Zrinjevac Park and proceeds towards Strossmayer Square and adjoining King Tomislav Square where Advent venues also take place.
DAY 2 (Upper Town Day)**
Breakfast at the hotel followed by an Upper Town guided tour that includes: a visit to Zagreb Cathedral, the most monumental and the most impressive Gothic-style sacral building southeast of the Alps, with the history dating back as far as 1093 (only individual visits allowed). At certain dates in late afternoons the live Nativity Scene of amateur actors playing the Holy Family, the Magi and the shepherds may also be observed; a funicular ride to Strossmayer Promenade, a delightful tree alley setting with a stunning panorama of Zagreb, where you will experience Fooling around event - known for good vibes and fun, great concerts and music, original drinks and tasty food; a visit to St. Mark’s Square, the home of the Croatian Parliament and the crossroad of the surrounding churches and museums; a short stroll through the Stone Gate, a charming shrine and once the eastern gate to medieval Gradec Town; and finally a stroll down Tkalčićeva Street, one of the two major hubs of bustling street activity full of history and packed with cafés and restaurants.
The evening program will include an organized visit to the Grič Tunnel, a World War II underground passage built underneath the very heart of Zagreb. We will start at Meat Street (formerly a hub of medieval butcheries) and enjoy a music program of young upcoming artists in a surreal environment of Christmas decorations set inside that 3-metre wide and 350-metre long tunnel. At the other end of the tunnel we will descend Radićeva Street, reaching Ban Jelačić Square and European Square, where some popular contemporary artists and DJs create a multicultural and energetic atmosphere of great and memorable fun!
DAY 3 (Free Time Day)**

We recommend one or two permanent exhibitions of the accessible museums in the vicinity of the hotel and Ban Jelačić Square (like Nikola Tesla Museum, Mimara Museum, Zagreb City Museum, Klovićevi Dvori Gallery and the ground floor of Broken Relationships Museum) and a magnificent view of the town at Zagreb Eye viewpoint (pre-booking required).
