Interreg IPA Cross-border Cooperation Programme Croatia-Bosnia and Herzegovina-Montenegro 2014-2020 is a trilateral programme implemented during financial period 2014-2020. The overall aim of the Interreg IPA Cross-border Cooperation Programme Croatia-Bosnia and Herzegovina-Montenegro 2014-2020 is to strengthen the social, economic and territorial development of the programme area through the impl

ementation of joint projects and activities in the areas of health and social care, environment protection and sustainable energy, development of sustainable tourism, cultural an natural heritage and strengthening of competitiveness and business environment. The overall budget of the Programme for period 2014-2020 is 67,241,552 EUR out of which 57,155,316 EUR represents EU co-funding (85%) and 10,086,236 EUR represents national co-funding (15%). The programme area includes 12 counties in Croatia, Brčko District and 109 municipalities in Bosnia and Herzegovina and 10 municipalities in Montenegro.

Educational Workshops Inspire Young Learners in Montenegro :) 👩‍🏫🧒

Six educational workshops titled “Secrets of Good Things – Basics of Circular Economy for the Youngest” were successfully delivered in the Municipality of Zeta and the City of Podgorica, Montenegro, as part of the RECIRCLE project.

✅ Through interactive learning, creative tasks, and age-appropriate activities, children explored key concepts of the circular economy, including waste separation, recycling, reuse, and responsible environmental behaviour.

➡ By encouraging the youngest generations to adopt sustainable habits and understand the value of resources, RECIRCLE is helping lay the foundations for more environmentally responsible communities across the programme area.

🦅 Promoting Sustainable Tourism Through Birdwatching 🌿

As part of the Pannonia-Adria Connection II - PA.CON II project, a three-day field training session in Herzegovina, completing the seven-day programme "Birdwatching as a Factor of Tourism in the Development of Local Communities."

✅ The training combined fieldwork, expert lectures, and practical exercises, providing participants with valuable knowledge and skills for developing birdwatching tourism and promoting sustainable tourism based on natural heritage.

🦆🦅 By strengthening local capacities and highlighting the importance of biodiversity, the PA.CON II project supports sustainable tourism development and creates new opportunities for local communities while preserving natural ecosystems for future generations.

🚑 DIGIHEALTH: Saving Lives and Valuable Time in Intensive Care Units

Innovation, knowledge sharing, and digital solutions are transforming healthcare—and DIGIHEALTH is helping lead the way.

Over five intensive days, the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Mostar, in cooperation with the University Clinical Hospital Mostar, hosted a specialized training program for healthcare professionals from partner hospitals across Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Montenegro.

Thanks to the Mowaclim project, we now have a clearer path to protecting the Neretva Delta :)

The findings of the MoWaCLIM project were presented at the 4th European GREEN Conference in Vodice, bringing together experts and institutions dedicated to climate resilience and sustainable development.

📍 The project focuses on the Neretva Valley—a unique region known for its rich biodiversity and agricultural importance. However, this valuable ecosystem is increasingly threatened by climate change, saltwater intrusion, and intensive groundwater use for irrigation.

🔍 The results reveal that certain parts of the Neretva Valley are particularly vulnerable to salinization due to reduced river inflow, overexploitation of groundwater, and changing climate conditions.

💧 The message is clear: improving water management will be crucial for preserving the Neretva Delta’s ecosystems, agricultural productivity, and long-term sustainability.

NEW 5.7 MILLION EURO BOOST FOR 26 CROSS-BORDER PROJECTS

Within the EmBRACE project, implemented by the HAMAG-BICRO, contracts were signed in Herceg-Novi for 26 new cross-border cooperation projects involving a total of 76 micro and small enterprises from Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Montenegro.

✅ The total value of these projects amounts to 5,68 million euro.
✅ The projects will contribute to economic development, strengthening competitiveness, and better integration of the markets of three countries.

STUDENTS LEARNED HOW TO PROTECT WATER 💦🏞️

As part of the EU-funded project Waterlink, the Općina Konavle organized a promotional and educational event at Konavoski dvori aimed at raising awareness about the importance of water protection and the preservation of natural resources.

✅ Approximately 90 students from local elementary schools participated in the event and learned how EU projects like Waterlink preserve water, one of our most valuable resources :)
