What do you need to know while you are on Croatian coast:
1. Speedboats and jet-powered boats (scooters, jet skis, hovercrafts, etc.) may only glide at a distance of more than 300 m from the shore.
2. In the sea area along the beach, yachts and boats must sail at a distance of more than 50 m from the fence of the developed beach, or 150 m from the shore of the natural beach.
3. Windsurfing is prohibited in the area of the entrance to the port, in narrow passages where navigation (ships, yachts and small boats) takes place, and within the developed beach.
4. Swimming is prohibited at a distance of more than 100 m from the shore of the natural beach.
5. Unless otherwise specified, in the area: 150 m from the coast, all vessels are required to sail with special attention, at a speed not exceeding 5 knots, and from 150 m to 300 m from the shore, all vessels are required to sail with special care at a speed not exceeding of 8 knots.
NOTE: fines for these offences are, for swimmers from 70 to 1330 EUR, and for "boats" from 400 to 6612 EUR, but this is most importantly for your protection. To get a fine, chance is slim, but don't be one of them ;)
