What’s the best place to try lángos in Budapest? I’d say a local farmers market, without question. That’s where locals actually go grocery shopping, then once they get hungry, they grab a hot lángos and sit on the nearby benches to enjoy it. It’s one of those simple Budapest moments that feels very real.

Lángos is definitely a filling food — most people eat it the classic way with sour cream and cheese piled on top. Messy, heavy, perfect.

If you don’t end up going to a local market, you can also try Lángosom. They have one location on Sütő utca and another in the Jewish Quarter party district on Wesselényi utca. Both spots stay open late, and in modern Budapest it’s honestly become a bit of a hangover food too. After a night out, a greasy lángos somehow suddenly feels like life advice.

Champions League fever is officially taking over Budapest ⚽🔥

This weekend is going to be HUGE for the city as thousands of football fans arrive for the UEFA Champions League Final at Puskás Aréna. But interestingly, one of the main centers of the celebrations will not just be the stadium — it will be Városliget (City Park), one of Budapest’s most historic and beautiful green spaces.

The park is preparing for one of the biggest events in its nearly 200-year history, with fan zones, entertainment, outdoor programs, and massive crowds expected around Heroes’ Square and City Park. 🌳🏟️

What makes it even more special is how much Városliget has changed over the years. The area now has modern sports facilities, running tracks, playgrounds, museums, green spaces, and so much more, while still keeping its historic atmosphere. Honestly, it is one of the best examples of old and new Budapest blending together.

Even if you are not a football fan, the city atmosphere this weekend will probably be unforgettable. Budapest during major international events always feels extra alive. ✨

Every time I see this moon installation in Budapest, I immediately think of that line from Minions: “Minions, tonight we steal the moon” 🌙😂

I was actually just walking somewhere and this was on my way, so obviously I had to stop and make a funny video about it. Honestly, it’s one of those random little things in Budapest that makes the city feel extra fun and magical.

If you want to see it, it’s located at Vincent Hall — Piarista köz 1. And the best part is that it looks cool at literally any time of the day.

So… will you go see it when you’re in Budapest? ✨

Discover one of the most beautiful hidden gems in City Park — the stunning House of the Hungarian Millennium. ✨ Originally built in the late 19th century, this historic building was beautifully restored as part of the renewal of City Park and now serves as a cultural space celebrating Hungarian heritage, art, and community.

With its elegant architecture, detailed design, and peaceful gardens, the House of the Hungarian Millennium perfectly blends history with modern cultural life. Inside, visitors can enjoy exhibitions, concerts, events, and interactive experiences, while outside the surrounding gardens and park create the perfect place to relax and explore. 🌿🏛️

Whether you’re interested in architecture, history, photography, or simply discovering unique places in Budapest, this is a must-visit destination in the heart of the city. 💫

Is it worth visiting the spring festival at Vörösmarty Square in Budapest? I’d say if you’re already in the area, it’s nice to walk through—but I wouldn’t go out of my way for it. The stands and food are basically the same as the Christmas market. It’s great if you’re looking to pick up local artisan goods, but the food is overpriced and very touristy. As a local, I wouldn’t eat here.

The market runs from May 1st to May 25th. Opening hours are Monday–Thursday 11AM–9PM, Friday–Saturday 11AM–10PM, and Sunday 11AM–9PM.

Is this the best Kunafa in Budapest? 👀 Come with me and let’s try kunafa at Kunafa House. It’s located in a more local area of Budapest at Mátyás tér 17 away from the usual tourist spots, and honestly such a hidden gem.

Kunafa is a delicious traditional Arab dessert made with crispy kadayif layered with cheese and soaked in a sweet sugar-based syrup called attar.

Some people warned me it might be too sweet, but honestly it was perfectly fine for me. It had just the right amount of sweetness without being overwhelming. The food is great quality and definitely just the right amount of sweet. It was a very pleasant surprise. Pistachio, chocolate, and cream fillings in some of the desserts made them even more divine 🤍 They also had a variety of other smaller desserts which were all delicious. Qatayef is also on the menu, and they even serve it with ice cream 🍨

The staff was super friendly and helpful, and the place itself is very clean and spacious. There are plenty of tables upstairs too, so it’s a great spot to sit down with friends and enjoy some amazing desserts together.
If you have a sweet tooth like I do and you’re looking to try something new in Budapest, then you seriously have to check out Kunafa House! ✨ | collaboration

Art has always been something that I’ve enjoyed having in my life. I particularly love looking at paintings from all different areas of art. Somehow makes me slow down and think. Makes me forget the rest of the world. Do you feel the same way about art?

Day in my life as a private tour guide in Budapest ✨
My guests wanted to explore the Buda Castle District and get a feel for the local side of the city—so obviously I said yes to the challenge and blended one of my classic routes with a few of my favorite hidden spots.
What I didn’t expect? The conversations.

They weren’t the usual surface-level questions. We got into the real stuff—what Hungary feels like today, what it’s like living here as a foreigner, how you actually make Hungarian friends (not always easy, let’s be honest), business culture, food, and even why Budapest feels so calm and safe compared to other big cities.

At some point it stopped feeling like a tour… and started feeling like catching up with old friends.

The highlight? Sitting in a tiny local strudel shop when the girl behind the counter assumed we were just friends hanging out—not guide and guests. Honestly, that’s the biggest compliment I can get.

We wandered through one of my favorite local farmers markets, stopped at a Hungarian-run pastry shop on the Buda side, and eventually made our way back to Pest where we started—full circle, full stomachs, full conversations.

That’s how I like to do my tours. Some people want the must-sees, quick and efficient. Others want the hidden layers. Most want a bit of both. I always try to read the room and shape the day around you.

The video shows where we went—but this is what it actually felt like.

If you’re coming to Budapest and want to experience the city beyond just ticking boxes, send me an email at [email protected] 🤍 I’d love to show you around.
