Budapesten sokáig a Szent István-bazilika és az Országház volt a legmagasabb épület, a maguk 96 méter magas kupoláival. Ez a 96 méter egy szimbolikus szám volt, ami a magyar honfoglalás dátumára (896) utal. Ez a megegyező magasság pedig a világi és az egyházi hatalom egyenrangúságát fejezte ki. 2022 óta viszont már a 143 méter magas Mol Campus Budapest legmagasabb épülete.

In Budapest waren lange Zeit die St.-Stephans-Basilika und das Parlamentsgebäude mit ihren jeweils 96 Meter hohen Kuppeln die höchsten Gebäude. Diese 96 Meter waren eine symbolische Zahl, die auf das Datum der ungarischen Landnahme (896) hinwies. Diese gleiche Höhe drückte zudem die Gleichberechtigung von weltlicher und kirchlicher Macht aus. Seit 2022 ist jedoch der 143 Meter hohe Mol Campus das höchste Gebäude in Budapest.

For a long time, St. Stephen’s Basilica and the Parliament Building were the tallest buildings in Budapest, each with a dome 96 meters high. This 96-meter height was a symbolic number referring to the date of the Hungarian conquest (896). This equal height symbolized the equality of secular and ecclesiastical power. Since 2022, however, the 143-meter-tall Mol Campus has been Budapest’s tallest building.
