That Levi Guy is alive and kicking, enjoying this sh*tstorm we live in, passing valuable limited open air time in Torino. That's where I live now. I enjoy it. Very much.
I remember the times when I "had" to deal with tourists. Customers, some would say. Some would call them clients. Whatever you call them, sometimes they are real pain in the ass, like anyone could or would be. It's not because they are tourists. Although some people just have something click in their brains when they set foot on foreign soil, something that makes them complete idiots, some can only be and stay the same they were at home - good folks or worse. Sg. Romano knows best and warns everyone: don't have your hopes too high, your road to change does not necessarily start with a barcode that you scan at the airport and certainly will not be the solution to your problems. Also, if you are an as***le at home, chances are good you will be not much different elsewhere. Not everyone gets to be Colin Farrell In Bruges.

Today is the birthday of another giant, or rather a colossus, the indestructable Sonny Rollins. Dude, I saw this guy a feww years ago, barely dragging his body from one side of the the stage to another and still, sounding freaking amazing. Tough man, soft sound, this player is a legend, a pole in the middle of an empty field where old friends used to blow. On this pole are carved a million messages from people of the past and present. Sonny Rollins, happy f birthday to you!

Tonight we celebrate the 100th birthday of Charlie "Bird" Parker. I only say this is the guy whose playing never ceases to amaze me and to make me smile. Whenever I felt astranged or tired of jazz he led me back to it. Can't thank a dead man and maybe he wouldn't even be very touched but still, thanks, man.
