The trees are in bloom in Budapest's popular botanical garden called "Fűvészkert" 🌸The garden is beautiful all year round, but it is probably the most spectacular in April.

Szentendre is a beautiful little town along the Danube river, approximately 30 minutes drive away from Budapest. It is also called the town of artisians, as it inspired many painters and artisians over the years with its settings and unique streets. Szentendre is home to several galleries, museums, shops full of handmade products, restaurants and cafés, so it is perfect for a day-trip. Photos taken yesterday :)

Did you know? Every year in the middle of October, tens of thousands of cranes have their stopover here in Hungary on their way from Skandinavia to Africa. They enjoy Hungarian hospitality and recharge their batteries :)
If you have the chance, do not miss this natural wonder next year.

This is the palace of Gödöllő, built in the 18th century. Around the end of the 19th century it was the residence of the emperor and empress of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy. It was said to be the favourite place of empress Elisabeth (nicknamed Sisi), who was adored by the Hungarians.
The palace is a 40 minutes drive from Budapest, if you come, it definitely worth a visit.

We have visited Veszprém, a beautiful, historic town near lake Balaton, and we can only recommend it. Its a perfect match to a few lazy days at Balaton! :)
