What a wonderful afternoon with the filmmakers of the very first in Budapest!

Today afternoon we explored Budapest through the stories of remarkable Hungarian women – from Queen Sissi and film icon Katalin Karády to director Márta Mészáros, writer Magda Szabó and Nobel Prize winner Katalin Karikó.

We crossed the Danube, enjoyed the breathtaking panorama, discovered hidden corners of the city, shared stories, laughter and, of course, some excellent Hungarian sparkling wine. 🍾

One of the nicest parts of the afternoon was seeing festival participants from different countries getting to know each other beyond the screenings and events.

Special respect goes to our one and only male participant, Samuel, who bravely joined a tour dedicated to remarkable women... and survived! 👏

A heartfelt thank you to LaPage, founder of the La Femme International Film Festival and the wonderful mind behind this tour idea. ❤️ What a beautiful way to connect women filmmakers from around the world through stories, conversation, Budapest and a glass of Hungarian bubbly.

Film and art have a unique power: they connect people across countries, cultures and languages.
Yesterday we started as strangers, but by the end of the tour it felt like we had known each other much longer ❤️
