Good news for tomorrow, August 19th: due to the long summer Tuesday hours, the baths will be open 7 AM – 10 PM.

Meet Dracula… but not the scary one. This tiny bronze statue by Kolodko (2023) sits quietly by Vajdahunyad Castle in Budapest City Park, completely lost in his book.

It’s a funny reminder that even the darkest legends enjoy a little reading time by the lake. Next time you visit, slow down, look closely, and you might just catch Dracula in his most unusual form: a bookworm!

At the Széchenyi Thermal Baths, children under 14 are no longer allowed entry — so families may want to plan accordingly.

If you’re thinking of heading to Palatinus Thermal Baths on Margaret Island instead, please note that the outdoor wave pool is currently out of order due to a technical problem.

Travel Alert: Gellért Thermal Bath Closing

Starting October 1, 2025, Budapest’s iconic Gellért Bath will close for at least three years for major renovations. The closure was long overdue, as the bath and Gellért Hotel are structurally connected, making urgent repairs necessary.

Nearby alternatives like Rudas Baths or Lukács Baths remain open for visitors.
