If you love Hungarian wine as much as I do, Villány is a great wine region to visit.

Villány is widely regarded as one of Hungary’s top wine destinations, and its dozens of wineries including celebrated producers such as my favourite in the area - the spectacular Bock Winery.

Warm and sunny Villány has produced wine since ancient Roman times and is also home to historic churches, thermal spas, museums, national parks, and neighboring towns with centuries of history.

So if you are looking for an offbeat Budapest experience Villány is excellent.
Maybe go for one of the wine festivals and rent a small, cute house.

Festetics Palace at Keszthely.

Central Keszthely is the site of a 14th century Gothic church and the beautiful Festetics Palace, built by the Festetics family in 1745. The library wing of the palace houses 86,000 books.

The baroque castle was completed in 1887 and houses no less than 111 rooms.
Works by Haydn, Pleyel and Goldmark are exhibited here.

Housed in the historic Drechsler Palace, previously home to the Institute of Ballet.
Located on Andrássy Avenue, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Alongside the palace’s history’.

Go and get a drink on the lovely terrace, have a look inside or just take a selfie 😊

It is a very sophisticated and playful setting.
My son loved exploring every single cover of the hotel.
