📍 Part I: Market Hall Magic – Nagy Vasarcsarnok

We begin our adventure at Budapest’s iconic Great Market Hall, a hidden gem brimming with Hungarian culinary delights! From its vibrant stalls to its rich history, we’ll explore the essence of this gastronomic landmark. After an introduction and a group photo, we’ll break the ice with a cheers of Palinka 🥂 a fiery local spirit with a fascinating story.
🍽️ Food Stops:
🥐 Retes (Hungarian Strudel) – Discover the history of Túró, the soft cheese that stars in both sweet and savory pastries.
🥓 Porc Tepertő (Crispy Pork Cracklings) – A crunchy, flavorful Hungarian favorite!
🍷 Hungarian Charcuterie Board – A selection of local cured meats, Pogácsa (savory scones) & smoked cheese.
🥒 Savanyúság Tasting Workshop – A deep dive into Hungary’s love for pickled delicacies, as we uncover this hidden gem beneath the market, often missed by tourists and visitors.
🚋 Part II: Downtown Delights – Deák & Gozsdu Udvar
After another shot of Palinka to fuel our journey, we’ll hop on a tram for a 10-minute ride to Deák Ferenc tér, the beating heart of Budapest. Here, we’ll dive into some of Hungary’s most beloved street foods!
🍽️ Food Stops:
🧄 Lángos – The ultimate crispy, golden fried dough topped with sour cream and cheese, with a side of history!
🔥 Kürtőskalács (Chimney Cake) – Baked over open flames, this traditional cinnamon-sugar pastry will transport us back in time to Hungary’s old countryside food stalls.
🏰 Part III: A Sweet Finale by the Danube – Vigadó Tér & The Castle View
We take a scenic walk through Budapest’s fashion street while indulging in our freshly baked Chimney Cake. Our journey concludes in Vigadó Tér, where we’ll sip on Pezsgő (Hungarian sparkling wine) 🥂 while taking in a breathtaking view of Buda Castle - the perfect way to wrap up this delicious experience!
