The Citadel has become my favorite viewpoint. No matter when I come up here, the view of the city captivates me. And the best thing is that’s completely free (if you walk up). The bustling city looks quiet from here, and spotting famous buildings is always fun.

There’s something magical about discovering new places. The Hague and Amsterdam was really spectacular!

As a tour guide I never get tired of exploring new cities, meeting new people and uncovering the stories that make every destination special. Every new place brings a fresh perspective and that’s what I love most about travel 🥰

Always curious. Always exploring. And last but not least always ready for the next journey 😉

A few more tips to make this heat easier to bear (Hungarian way) 😎

1) Cold fröccs from white wine
2) Cold sour cherry beer
3) Iced coffee with vanilla ice cream
4) Cold sour cherry or forest fruit soup

PS. If your ice cream is melting faster than you can eat it, it’s officially too hot 🥵

Treasure hunting mode ON 😎

If you want to have a full Budapest experience you should visit a flea market too. There’s something special and exciting about finding pieces with a story to tell. Here you can see vintage gems, unexpected items, old (useless) pieces and treasures as well. But the most thrilling thing is to observe the locals while they “treasure hunt” 😊

My favorite flea market is the Industrial Lamp Budapest at 11th District, Hengermalom út 51. It is organized only occasionally, so checking their IG or FB page is essential!

It’s easily accessible with bus number 133E

A good alternative that is open regularly is the Ecseri Flea Market, even on Sunday from 9 am until 1 pm.

Magic happens after the sun goes down! Grateful for quiet walks, fresh air and breathtaking views 😍 Castle District is even more magical after golden hour. And you can never get bored of the Pest side & Danube panorama.

The Danube has a way of making every moment feel a little slower, calmer and very relaxing. Grateful for this timeless river and the memories made along its banks. And super grateful for my friend Mónika Huszár for capturing all my crazy ideas 😁

Nagymaros is my happy place to watch the Danube, Visegrád Castle and have a chill day far from the noise of the city.

I highly recommend Nagymaros even for hiking or just using the ferry to Visegrád and enjoy a day close to nature in a quiet town in the Danube Bend.

📍It’s easy to get here from Nyugati Railway Station, the train goes until Szob, but you have to get off at Nagymaros-Visegrád stop (takes only about 45 minutes).

City heat feels differently. These are my top three tips to cool down 😎
1.) Swim in the morning hours at the nearby outdoor pool avoiding the crowd
2.) Eat delicious ice cream for breakfast, lunch and dinner
3.) Cold melon is the best snack (Hungarian watermelon has seeds but it’s super crispy and sweet)

+1 tip: explore the city early in the morning or after 6 pm

Stay cool, stay hydrated and look out for each other!

Lavender state of mind 💜 If you love endless purple and Lake Balaton views this is truly paradise!

My two favorite places for the scent of lavender are:
📍Kőröshegy (close to Balatonföldvár, southern shore)
📍Tihany

Tihany is definitely a must visit spot, the nicest village on the Lake in my opinion (northern shore). And if you’re there don’t forget to taste the lavender cream cake from Apátsági Rege Cukrászda It’s the best taste of summer! 😊

Esztergom is perfect for a day trip. It’s located in the scenic Danube Bend about 50 km northwest of Budapest. And it’s easily accessible by train too (from Nyugati pályaudvar). The train ride takes only 1 hour 5 minutes. A stroll in the old town and visiting the most impressive Basilica in Hungary will be the highlight of the trip. The view from the dome-lookout is breathtaking, a coffee at the Panorama Hall will be memorable (you can take great pictures from here). History will follow us every step of the way and the town is truly charming! 😊

Have you ever seen the hometown of our King St. Stephen?

A season of festivals, colors, good vibes, laughter, unforgettable memories. Cheers to culture, connections, good friends and rosé wine! The rosé wine festival is definitely one of the most popular one in June, but here you can find a few that worth attending if you visit Budapest this month:

- Summer outdoor cinema in the Pavilion Garden, City Park in June & July
- Festive Book Week June 11-14
- Night-time Sports Festival June 12
- Balcony concerts in Újlipótváros (13th district) June 13
- Budapest Pride June 27

Summer is always busy and eventful! 😊
