We have a favorite little w**e region in Hungary. When we started organizing w**e tours twelve years ago, our guests hardly knew about it. We were always grateful when they trusted us and let us show them this hidden gem. Afterward, many of those guests became our regulars. 🙏

Now we’re over the moon!😍 Last night we attended the “Most Beautiful Vineyard” awards ceremony organized by Bor és Piac (thank you for the invitation), and to our great delight, the winners in two categories for “Most Beautiful Vineyard” came from this w**e region.

🍇In the Small Estate category, a tiny w**ery with just 1 hectare of vineyards, featuring an estate center right in the middle of the vineyards, a guesthouse, a terrace overlooking the Danube, and a garden so beautifully landscaped that even landscape architects would take notice! And with a story that everyone takes with them when they leave🌿🌺

🍇In the “Large Estate” category, there’s a uniquely beautiful estate (we’d love to see more like this in the country), perched on a mountaintop, surrounded by vineyards stretching far into the distance, with the meandering Danube below. It features a wonderful w**e cellar, excellent w**es renowned far and wide, guest rooms, a superb restaurant, and a pool🌞🍷.

We always look forward to visiting both of them! We extend our warmest congratulations to Hilltop Neszmély Borászat W**ery —winner of the Large Estate category—and to Rábai Katalin borászat W**ery, winner of the Most Beautiful Cellar in the Small Estate category, as well as to their w**emakers, Ákos Kamocsay and Katalin Rábai! They are both gems of the Neszmély W**e Region and its wonderful ambassadors! 🍾🥂💚

Congratulations also to the winner of the Medium-Sized Estate category, TÓTHBORBIRTOK Pannonhalma! We hope to visit them as soon as possible!

🍷 When great w**e meets great gastronomy…

We are delighted to see that among the Dining Guide’s TOP10 restaurants in Hungary for 2026, two are w**ery restaurants – and both belong to Sauska!

Two very different w**e regions, two outstanding gastronomic destinations, and one shared philosophy: creating memorable experiences where w**e, food and a strong sense of place come together.

For us, this is also a wonderful reflection of what modern Hungarian w**e tourism can offer today. A visit to a w**ery is no longer only about tasting great w**es – it can be a complete culinary and cultural experience.

Hungary now has its **first Master of W**e based in the country: Sue Tolson MW!** 🇭🇺🍷

Heartfelt congratulations to our dear friend on this truly outstanding achievement! ❤️

We are proud not only because Sue has earned one of the most prestigious and demanding qualifications in the world of w**e, but also because she has dedicated so much time, knowledge, passion and energy to **Hungarian w**e and Hungarian w**e culture** over the years.

She has done an enormous amount to introduce Hungary’s w**es, w**e regions and grape varieties to a wider international audience and to help them gain the recognition they deserve.

Dealu Mare is one of Romania’s most important and prestigious w**e regions, located in the sunny hills of Prahova and Buzău counties, just a short drive from Bucharest. Often compared to Bordeaux or Tuscany thanks to its position around the 45th parallel, the region is especially known for its elegant, full-bodied red w**es. Its warm climate and south-facing slopes provide excellent conditions for varieties such as Fetească Neagră, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. With its rolling vineyards, boutique w**eries and growing reputation, Dealu Mare offers a wonderful introduction to the richness and diversity of Romanian w**e.
