Elisabeth (Erzsébet) Bridge is an iconic landmark for those who come to the city, as the western highways approaching Budapest lead here. It's rather new construction, but it is the second bridge in this place. The original one was destroyed in WW2; the once world-record structure was so unluckily damaged that it became the only Budapest bridge not repaired but rebuilt in the sixties.
