In 2023, a tour in Budapest changed my life forever.

My husband booked a walking city tour with me… and somewhere between the streets, stories, and laughter, we knew this connection was something extraordinary…

Although my parents were able to come to our wedding in the USA, it took another 1.5 years for both of our families to finally come together and truly get to know each other. And honestly… it was everything I hoped for and more.

Watching the bonding grow between my family and my husband’s family was so special. Different countries, different backgrounds, yet it now feels like one big family. 🥹

The cherry on top was seeing my new family experience Hungary — the country where I was born and raised, the places that shaped me, and the culture I love so deeply.

Grateful for everything that brought us here.

Budapest is getting one of its most iconic landmarks back ✨🇭🇺

After years of renovation, the Citadella on Gellért Hill is finally reopening in 2026 — and it looks more beautiful than ever. From breathtaking panoramic views over the Danube to brand new terraces, green spaces, cafés, and exhibitions, this historic fortress is entering a whole new era.

I wrote a new blog post about everything visitors should know before going — including the reopening details, what’s new, how to get there, and why the Citadella remains one of the most magical spots in Budapest.

If Budapest is on your bucket list for 2026, this is a place you absolutely shouldn’t miss.

Some nights don’t need anything extra… just lights, reflections, and a quiet moment to take it all in ✨

The Chain Bridge glowing softly, the Castle standing still above the city, and the Danube carrying every light like a moving mirror. It’s one of those views that slows everything down, even if just for a few minutes.

I’ve seen this scene more times than I can count, but it always feels a little different… a little more personal. Like the city is telling its story in silence, and for a moment, you’re part of it.

Holding onto this feeling a little longer tonight 🤍

Back at the beautifully renewed Citadella ✨
There’s something about this view over Budapest that never changes… no matter how many times I see it! 🤍

Now filled with colorful plants and the sweetest little details, it feels even more special to wander around up here.

A little fresher, a little brighter—and still one of the most magical panoramas above the Danube.

Have you been up here before or since the renovation? ✨

Real Hungarian breakfast has nothing to do with hotel buffets — and everything to do with warm bread from the neighbourhood bakery, butter with radishes, körözött, and a tiny, strong espresso.

Every food tour I give starts with a version of the same question: "Is this what Hungarians actually eat in the morning?"

The answer is always no. And the real answer is so much better.

I wrote all about it on the blog — what locals eat, where to find it in Budapest, and why a summer breakfast of lecsó with fresh eggs might just change your life.

And if you want to experience a real Budapest morning together — just send me a message.

Forget the hotel buffet. Licensed Budapest guide Kata shares what Hungarians really eat for breakfast — fresh bread, körözött, Pick salami, rétes, and strong espresso. Plus where to find the best morning bites in the city.

Budapest has a secret. 😌

There are over 30 tiny bronze statues hidden across the city — on bridge railings, metro banisters, synagogue walls, and along the Danube. Most visitors walk straight past every single one.

I just published a complete guide to finding them all — with locations, stories, and the fascinating history behind each one.

From Kermit the Frog near Parliament to a tiny tank referencing the 1956 revolution. From Yoda on the metro to Dracula reading peacefully in City Park. From Franz Joseph in a hammock on Liberty Bridge to Putin on a giant stone middle finger.

Every statue has a story. And once you start looking — you'll never see Budapest the same way again.
