Nyepi is a'Day of silence in Bali' Hindu calendar, deserved for self reflection and meditation. As sich anything that night interfere with that purpose is restrcted, including the lighting of fires, working, traveling and any form of entertainment. Bali's usually bustling streets and roads are empty and few signs of activity are seen even inside homes. Observed from 06.00am for 24 hours, Nyepi is followed by the balinese new year's day , when the families and friends gather and the hum of daily life resumes
