First day In Nias
Gunung Sitoli, Miga Beach Hotel
with the owner mr. Agus Mendröfa
This was actually my first assigment to Sumatra, especially to Nias Island, a 1 hour flying time out from Kualanamu Airport, Medan.Binaka, the name of Nias's airport was abit small but very clean and beautiful. Shortly we arrived, we got a local transport with reasonable price and asked him to get us to Miga beach Hotel. We passed along a quite busy road with banana and coconut trees grows well.
Once we arrived, I found the hotel lobby was soo natural, really has reflected the Nias culture in general, combining of old nice carved woods of bench, table with some nice statues standing on each corner.Staff were so friendly, rooms was so nice,and the yard was fulled with fine trees, small bamboo and local laban trees.
mr. Agus was so friendly and he share a lot of knowledge about Nias culture and heritage.
He was the one that always come with surprise, especially with food that served.Thats was 5 stars food.....and he was the one that cooks.The fried rice, sumatran coffee, banana pancake, boiled fish, chinese style food, or even japannese ones, a 80cm long fish that served along with lobster, oh wow,, that 's all made my client, Tim and Franziska were soo happy. One week stay was felt so short, and I felt so homy in that place.
