Marks the victory of Dharma (righteousness) over Adharma (evil), Galungan is one of the major celebrations for Hindu Balinese in Indonesia. The word 'Galungan' itself can be interpreted as fighting and winning in Javanese and Balinese.

During Galungan, people will set up a Penjor in front of their homes as a symbol of prosperity and gratitude. They also make Banten as an offering to God and gather around to make prayers in Pura (temple), and one of the events is the Barong Dance, which is usually performed in the temples.

Overall, Galungan is a time of joy, prayer, and community in Bali, reflecting the rich cultural and religious heritage of the Hindu Balinese people. Visitors can witness these rituals from the outer side of the temple, dressed in their prayer cloth.
