**UNPLANNED TRIPS **
The best kind of adventure is the one you don't realise you're going to have. 💕💕
Today we set out for a day trip to Khao Lak (About one and a half hours from Phuket) and we are now only just resting our heads after a series of on-the-spot decisions, making today definitely one of our most memorable.
After making it up to a couple of the many beaches along the Khao Lak coastline we came across a sign for Sai Rung Waterfall 💦💦
The water was cold, fresh and off the beaten track and is a definite double thumbs up from us 👍👍
After driving through the back streets we then came across the area of Ban Nam Khem. This was particularly special because we had come across the area worst hit by the 2004 tsunami. The area is very quiet and the beach itself - although beautiful still holds the sadness and the memory of the disaster that killed 3500 people almost 13 years ago. The memorials and the golden Buddha that decorate the beach bring a very solemn atmosphere, and we were able to experience a very very tiny part of the emotions still tied to the area. A beautiful way to learn about the history of the country and pay respect also.
The day went so well we decided to stay the night at Khao Lak Relax Resort for 1500 Baht ($65NZD) for a villa that can fit 6 people! (booked through Trivago while on the beach). To top it off after an amazing dinner at Ao Thong beach we happened to be absolutely graced by the most beautiful sunset 😍😍💕💕
I think it was Khao Lak's way of showing us that it's still got it haha. If you're ever in need of a day trip out of Phuket hire a car and head up to Khao Lak!! You will not regret it and the team are only one message away if you need a bit of guidance 😉

**This one is aimed at our ladies** 💇🏼💇🏻
(But is for anyone that enjoys a good relaxing hour at the hairdresser...we don't exclude anyone here) 🤣

Being the country of ultimate pampering and relaxation on a budget, the salon is another alternative to massages or manicures. This is more of an encouragement post to those who may be a bit timid about trusting others with their hair. I just left this salon and paid 150 baht (approx 6NZD) to have my hair shampooed, conditioned, blow-waved PLUS a quick head and neck massage during the shampoo 👌👌. These salons are everywhere, and the ones on the side streets are usually a bit cheaper than the ones in the malls and around main shopping districts.
Be smart, look for salons that have others in them and my advice would be to keep it simple. I have never had a bad experience, and the universal language of hair is generally easy enough to translate even with limited understanding of Thai language. Be brave, you won't regret it and you'll save a great deal 😉😉

Ahhh the colours of the Thailand sunset get us everytime, with the view dramatically changing every single hour. 😍
There are a few notable points to see some of the most beautiful sunsets in the world - and the Big Buddha hill in Chalong is one of them! There's a small restaurant on the right hand side just before the top that visitors can stop to take photos like this.

WATCH IN HD

Best way to discover the island is on 2 wheels, but you have to be safe out there. The general rule on these roads, is chaos with some common sense 🙂

People can crash, but you can avoid this by making sure you are a confident rider, and you trust no one on the road lol sounds harsh but true. We know good people on the island who can get you scooters that won't try hustle you, and if you want to ride but can't, we can take you on a bit of a trip on the back of us.

From here you can see the beaches, night markets and other spots not many know about. You can also book cars here free and easy if you know how. Let us help you. Ride safe folks!!

While it rains and hails in NZ, you really should just close your eyes, book a cheap flight to Phuket and we'll help you with the rest.

Life is good, and you don't have to spend ridiculous amounts of money to enjoy it. Get hold of us if you're thinking about coming over, guaranteed you will feel better for it.

One of the things we really want to promote here at Elevate: the Thai experience is the ethical and quality treatment of our animals. If you are keen to check out the beauty of Thailand's Elephants, we recommend you find some really awesome sanctuaries that focus on rehabilitating and saving some the most damaged creatures.

Hey guys (Watch in HD)

We decided to run some small clips on some tips for those traveling.

Todays tip: Don't spend your whole trip in Patong. We watch people book their holidays on Trivago etc and they book themselves in Patong. Good party nightlife, some good food but there's a whole other side to Phuket that will both save you money but make sure you see the beauty of Phuket.

From Phuket Town, to Promthep, beaches like Nai Harn, Kata Noi and even the touristy Karon. Waterfalls, small islands, all away from the hustle of Patong. If you love the hustle, spend a couple of days in BKK!! When we ask people about why their trip was ok, we found they spent the whole time in Patong, and tried to see the world from there. Stay out, hire a car, explore the island including the night markets etc.

Anyway you'll save money by staying somewhere out of Patong and you get to see Phuket.
