The Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK) statue in Bali, completed in 2018 after 28 years, depicts the Hindu god Vishnu riding the mythical bird Garuda. Symbolizing freedom, devotion, and cosmic balance, the 121-meter monument represents Garuda’s quest to free his mother from slavery by obtaining the elixir of life, ultimately becoming Vishnu’s companion.
