Our guest, Sarah Weber, brought forth some shots of the Togean Babirusa that she encountered during her trip!

Did you know? Babirusa means "pig-deer" in Indonesian. If you look at a babirusa, especially the males, you'll see that they have a pig-like snout and body, and long, upward-curving tusks that resemble deer antlers. That's how they get the name!

Here we come with some underwater masters of disguises, and we have some fun facts to share to you! 😉

1) Tassled Scorpionfish: This creature's remarkable camouflage allows it to blend seamlessly with the reef, often resembling algae-covered rocks. A word of caution: its spines are venomous, so observation from a distance is advised.

2) Giant Clam: These long-lived mollusks can survive for over a century, filtering seawater for sustenance. Their vibrant mantle colors are a result of symbiotic algae, which provide both nourishment and camouflage.

3) Cuttlefish: Known for their rapid color and texture changes, cuttlefish are masters of disguise. Their intelligence is evident in their complex communication and hunting strategies.

4) Flathead Crocodilefish: This ambush predator remains motionless on the seabed, relying on its camouflage to surprise prey. Its large mouth and sharp teeth make it a formidable hunter in its reef environment.

Here are some beautiful shots of our favorite gentle giant the whale shark! Being the biggest fish in the ocean, they have quite the intimidating size, but don't worry, they only eat teeny tiny food by filter feeding 🦈 We'll be seeing more of them as we approach the upcoming Komodo season very soon 😉

Wanna bring yourself and your loved ones and meet them??

You may ask, why would I want to swim with thousands of jellyfish?!!! Well these jellyfish, Mastigias Papua, live in isolated inland sea lakes and have lost their sting.

You still have to be careful when swimming with them, do not wear sunscreen or fins as both will damage their delicate little bodies.

Learn how these jellyfish lost their sting 👇

Last year when we explored the beautiful Maluku, our Tour Leader Anas was able to capture such a beautiful manta ray gliding in the water right below us.

As we all know, manta rays are quite the swimmer with the huge wingspan that they have. They can move really fast in the water and we can quickly lose sight of them.

Would you come to Maluku to experience meeting these wonderful animals?? 👇
