Rumah Besar is a luxury private villa nestled amongst rice paddies on the outskirts of Seminyak.

The villa features 5 luxurious air conditioned bedrooms complete with king-sized beds and ensuite bathrooms. Two of the bedrooms also contain bunk beds for the children, and additional roll away beds or cots can be provided if required. Rumah Besar has an open living area, a dining table large enough to comfortably seat 14 guests, and a fully equipped kitchen with modern appliances. Two large dayb

A short walk will take you to local restaurants, a supermarket, an ATM and the famous Bumbak Coffee Café. A 10 minute drive will take you to the centre of Seminyak where some of Bali’s finest restaurants and shops are located. Rumah Besar is perfect for a group of friends or family that prefer to stay together in a luxurious private setting. Included in our rate is breakfast, laundry and airport transfers in Bali.

Galungan and Kuningan 🌸

Galungan: Bali’s Spiritual Celebration of Good Over Evil
Galungan is one of Bali’s most important religious festivals, embodying the spiritual essence of the island and showcasing the rich cultural heritage of its people. This Hindu celebration marks a time when the spirits of deceased ancestors return to visit their former homes, and the Balinese welcome them with elaborate rituals and offerings. The festival symbolizes the victory of dharma (good) over adharma (evil), reflecting the spiritual values deeply ingrained in Balinese Hinduism.
The Significance of Galungan
The festival occurs every 210 days, lasting for 10 days, and culminates in Kuningan, another significant day when the spirits return to heaven. During Galungan, Bali transforms into a vibrant tableau of decorated streets, homes, and temples. Penjor poles, made from bamboo and adorned with coconut leaves, fruit, and flowers, line the roads in a spectacular display, symbolizing prosperity and the bounty of the earth.
Rituals and Celebrations
Galungan begins with various rituals, among which the most significant are the preparation of offerings and the penjor. Families gather to create “banten,” or offerings made of palm leaves, flowers.
