White-bellied sea eagle 🦅

One of the most iconic birds of prey in the Indo-Pacific and a very common sight across Indonesia. You can often spot them perched high in coastal trees or soaring above islands, reefs and open water.

They are powerful hunters, feeding mainly on fish, but they also take sea snakes, turtles, birds and carrion when the opportunity arises. Their incredible eyesight allows them to spot potential prey from high above before diving down to grab it with their powerful talons.

Adults are unmistakable, with a white head, chest and belly contrasting with their dark wings and back. They are also known for their loud, distinctive calls, which can often be heard long before the bird comes into view.

A familiar sight around the Indonesian archipelago, from the smallest remote islands to the busiest coastlines.

This one decided to make a very close visit to the Seven Seas while we were anchored.

Pulau Rusa. Brilliant white sand, crystal clear water and a wild, untouched coastline surrounded by dramatic nature.

After diving at the incredible Watu Balu, it’s the perfect place to relax, explore by kayak and enjoy the raw beauty of this remote and spectacular corner of Indonesia.

Just as we were getting ready for our first dive, our captain spotted a distant spout on the horizon. We changed course and headed towards it, and soon we found not one, but two pygmy blue whales.

An unexpected encounter that turned our first dive of the day into something truly special.

A beautiful encounter with a pod of Risso’s dolphins in the Indian Ocean.

With the Seven Seas cruising nearby, our guests had the chance to get out on the kayaks and watch these remarkable dolphins moving through the calm waters around us.

Calm seas, curious dolphins and a memorable moment far from shore.
